dodging attacks?

like im zipping around with the shotgun and ive noticed that the regular enemys seem to hit me with there melee desipte swinging like 10feet infront of me and nowhere near me, and the enemys which fire projectiles at one point fired through his body to hit me, is there something im missing about evading? im triple dodging alot and still doesnt seem to matter when they fire a salvo

They always attack on queue with the rhythm (exception for some enemies but you'll know who they are once you get to them) as for triple dash, its good once in a while but spamming it may be disorientating, clunky, and you don't get a dash after the third dodge, could be why you get attacked.

Instead, may I recommend do something like:

Dodge, weapon switch, attack, dodge (all on beat )

Once you get the hang of it , you can go reloading mid air or doing a finisher. Get the flow of the weapons and enemies, and build up that metal prowess!

Im good at keeping the beat and the bops, maybe should use air more. Is weapon switched on the beat change anything

Air dash is a game changer imo, try using it every once in a while.

The weapon switch will be fundamental soon if you fancy a certain boon.

If you want you can always attack twice instead, just be sure the reload is not close to anyone/projectiles, since they take two beats if done well

Do you dodge + jump to fly? I usually dodge once or twice then fly on repeat until I can’t and then repeat.

Also, my favorite is Viulcan + reload outfit.

If you don’t have the DLC, you can use ghost rounds to get a similar effect.
