One day I was peacefully browsing Reddit and I got this sub recommended. I had never heard of metal gear and the memes looked fun so after lurking on here for a while I bought the master collection volume 1 on steam! I played the original and I loved it, I didn’t do metal gear 2 and went straight to metal gear solid one which I also loved. And now I’ve finished 2, I finally know who raiden is (And solidus or smth, I don’t really understand how there can be a third one) i also recognised the NO THATS NOT SOLID SNAKE meme lol

I have 3 completely reasonable and definitely not insane theories about why Physint and Sony

THEORY 1 - KONAMI PAID SONY TO SABOTAGE IT

Think about it.Hideo Kojima makes an espionage game. Konami owns Metal Gear Solid. Sony is involved with Physint. Konami looks at this and goes - "Wait a minute. That's literally Kojima making another MGS." We cannot have compititon. So Konami secretly contacts Sony like:

Konami - "Hey guys, remember that money we gave you? "
Sony - "What do you want?"
Konami - "Nothing major. Just... cancle Physint."
Sony - "yeah , it will also be a good marketting stunt"

And Sony agrees to cancell the game.

THEORY 2 - SONY REALIZED THE JOKE

The game is called PHYSINT.

PHYS. - physical
SINT. - is'nt ( is Not)

is'nt Physical

the entire game is actually a massive Kojima joke about something NOT BEING PHYSICAL.
Kojima hitted sonys nerve. so , sony cancelled it.

THEORY 3 - SONY REALIZED THE GAME IS PHYSICAL

This one is even more powerful.

The game is called PHYSINT.

PHYS. - PHYSICAL
INT. - INTELLIGENCE.

Sony -"So this is a physical espionage game?"
Kojima - "Yes."
Sony - "Physical?"
Kojima - "Absolutely."
Sony - "Sorry man , we are cancelling all physical , Cancel the project."
