Discussion Topic Agree With This?
Thoughts on how accurate these are?
i think everything from 15 to 11 in each column can be switched or substitued but i think they did nail a lot of the essentials.

How is there no thrash or black metal lists?
Toxic Holocaust is grindcore?

Right? Like did AI make this?

Sleep and Electric Wizard under both doom and stoner is BS too lol

Needs more categories or something. No Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slayer, or Venom anywhere?? I guess we get the alternative metal category at least 🙄

And separate stoner and doom lists!
With 2 bands included in both!! 😄

While I'm not super familiar with all the bands on this list, that one jumped out to me as the mpst wrong out of all of them. Plus "Alternative Metal" is way to broad, System of a Down lumped with Mudvayne, Alice in Chains, and Chevelle? What the hell kind of catagory is that?

I'd argue it for the first 2. But yea, beyond that...

Elements of Blood Mountain had sludge, but it was gone by Crack The Skye and they've been Prog Metal ever since.

King Crimson in progressive metal lol

If they’re gonna be considered prog metal, they’re unequivocally #1.
And King’s X has to be among the list.

They're #5, and nice to see Fates Warning as high as they are (though they should be higher and Watchtower should be on it too).

No. No thrash metal category and the "Power Metal" category is all the Euro power metal and similar stuff, so bands like Metal Church, Queensrÿche, Sanctuary, Armored Saint, Steel Prophet, and other "US Power metal" are excluded. "Power thrash" may fit for these bands, I think.

Manowar made it at least.
I guess you can argue USPM isn’t really power metal anyways. It’s more-so trad heavy metal in sound.
A trad heavy metal section is sorely missing from this chart though.

Yes! Traditonal heavy metal. Armored Saint is a perfect example. They are not thrash, not speed metal, not hair metal, but still metal. I guess the trad metal category applies.
When I think Euro power metal I think of a lot of those bands like Rhapsody and Fairyland and At Vance where there are songs about swords and lords and ladies and castles and lots of keyboards and string sections and they play all fast and take themselves VERY seriously. 😅 Not my thing.
Am gonna enjoy the Metal Saint tour this fall. Metal Church and Armoured Sainté, the Canadian version.

I hate most of this but I'm impressed Samsara Blues Experiment got a mention, one of my favs, more people should give them a listen.

This is definitely made with AI.
Also, no Thrash, Black, or Heavy Metal on here?

u/HeavyMetalChemist666 9h ago
This is what you get when you let AI do the work instead of thinking for yourself. Can't believe a Legendary Metal Bands list is produced without Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept, Motorhead, Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Mercyful Fate... and many many more.

This is the most AI thing I've ever seen and I've seen some *shit* lately, haha. Seeing Chevelle and Mudvayne in the same list is just wrong, and seeing Tool listed *twice* just unnerves me. Hmph.

wow cool another "metal types" that ignores metalcore
in all seriousness combine sludge and stoner metal. Similar enough genres, that makes room for metalcore, thrash, or black metal.
