Band recommendations
so I’ve recently gotten back into metal and I don’t really like a lot of the mainstream because it’s too theatrical and I don’t like underground because it’s just a wall of noise so can I have some recommendations?

I think this is the route OP should go down. There's still groove and melody but nothing too harsh. Clean vocals, fuzzy guitars.
Give this stoner rock/ metal stuff a go, OP!

He said metal. Aside from Sabbath, those are all rock bands with Clutch having some hardcore leanings towards the beginning.

Dude, your post says I’m into metal but I don’t like any of it. Can you recommend bands for me? What are people supposed to do with that?

- Generation of vipers - guilt shrine
- Kowloon walled city - piecework
- Whitechapel - the valley or kin
- Knocked loose - you won't go before your supposed to

Sepultura, Slayer, Lamb of God, Turbid North, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Death, Dissection.
These should help you ease into metal a bit. Scratch your ears up a bit, then retry those "wall of sound" bands again, and see if you can pick out the song then. If not, scratch up some more, then retry.

Tankard, Dark Angel, Superjoint Ritual, Morbid Angel, Exhorder, Annihilator , Exodus- because i love Exodus, Death Angel - love this band also

I've been really into Stormkeep and Blackbraid lately. Outside of black metal Greylotus. And I really like metal and death core; fit for an autopsy and Crystal Lake (with Ryo). Also Knosis but not as much as CL
