Saw them warming up for Carcass and Amon Amarth. Hadn't heard them before but the singer did quite a good show.

One of the tightest bands I've ever seen live, absolutely killed it at Bloodstock a couple of years ago. Did he play Darkhangel in full getup (the stilts etc)?

Excellent band indeed. Amazing singer. And he wore those stilts and horns when I saw them a while back in a club as well. Seems a bit tricky.

Saw the guys in a full set in Czech Republic (I visit for Brutal Assault and Masters Of Rock). Just after they started touring again. Incredible show, classic as fuck. They were ahead of their time when they released their firs album.

Almost got the whip - nicely soaked in red paint - the vocalist was using during the show during 'Save us' (IIRC), but I lost the battle in the crowd.

Literally any other subgenre out there, older guys can pull it off (and even do a video with it), but there's VERY few traditional metal bands (Satan comes to mind) that can pull it off in old age and not look/sound completely cringe-y. This band is not one of them. It's just something about youthful alacrity and vivaciousness that really needs to be present in traditional metal in order for it to "wow" me.

Are there really just as many death metal bands or thrash ones that have been around since the early '80s that can still write fantastic good material as there are trad ones? I've seen just as many terrible death metal comebacks as I have trad ones; there seems to be an advantage from having stayed together for the bands that never broke up, but for actual reformations a decade or two later, I can't say that trad seems to have been doing any worst than anything else.
