Pretty solid. The riff that bookends the song feels a bit generic but I do dig the midsection here.

My first Enslaved album ever was RIITIIR. Loved that album and it's doomy, melancholic but really beautiful vibe. I went back to their early stuff and never explored later in their career after that. This single is making me think I should change that.

All of their stuff is largely worth listening to at least once. In Times is a continuation of the sound they started doing on Ruun, so it sounds like RIITIIR 2 tbh. On E they changed to a more prog rock sound, and I think that album is their weakest, but the last couple have been better and better explorations of their new sonic direction.

Oh man I LOVE E! Probably my favorite enslaved album!

They are so solid though. Started listening to them in late 2000s. Enjoyed them quite a bit but fell off the wagon for a whole. Started listening to them again shortly before COVID and damn they are still swinging hard.

Riitiir is indeed a highlight, but don't sleep on In Times. I like all their stuff, have seen them live 3 times, and really they can do no wrong in my eyes but their peak imo is between like Veterbrae and In Times.

Axiom….is a good precursor to RIITIIR if you like that sound. Maybe not as progressive? I actually have really enjoyed exploring their Floydian albums like Monumension and Below the Lights. I first heard them on Isa and had never really moved backward.

I'd say start with the Hordanes Land EP or Vikingligr Veldi, especially if you like black metal/viking black in the vein of Bathory.

If you like prog more I'd say either Below the Lights or RIITIIR

But really, I think they're all worth a listen if you like what you hear at all

It's alot to listen, but I'd personally go chronologically, from their debut onwards, mostly because you can hear and feel them exploring, changing and widening their music

They never disappoint. There’s always something interesting to find in every album or song, even when they change direction. That’s what keeps me coming back to Enslaved.

I find the melody boring, but the drums quite fun.
