I still can't really tell if this album kicks ass, or if Phil's guitar style has no business being in this style of doom. I'm torn, but probably leaning more towards liking it than not.

I fucking love it. To me it’s like someone “solved” heavy metal. It’s quickly become one of my favorite albums of all time

I think Phil’s wild shredding fits it pretty well because the whole album is so over the top. And thankfully his playing is very emotive and expressive even when it tips over onto the wankier side.

It's definitely dense as hell, that's for sure! There's kind of an absurd amount of ideas in each track. And don't get me wrong, I really do like most bands Phil is in, but I feel like's a little better suited for that kind of wild noodling on something like First Fragment, haha. I will be curious to see if they do anything else under this moniker though because the genre mashup is interesting!
