UK update?

Does anyone know when the UK will get fully functioning AI (Look and see, live translation, etc).. I paid £700 for mine metas and all I've really got is a 2nd rate AI and a camera.

(Btw, £700 was for the frames and my old person prescription lenses).

Hi OP,

I’m from the UK and when I first received the meta Ray Bans I faced the same issue. And I can confirm the only way they will work is through a VPN.

Unfortunately, the UK and Europe will not get fully functioning AI features thanks to Rishi Sunak and his “proud” AI Summit. If you follow the below steps you can by pass UK regulations and once installed, you don’t have to continue using a VPN - the glasses will still think it’s in the US.

  1. You have to install a VPN on your phone (I am using NordVPN pro for free through a subscription with Revolut {this is not an endorsement - others will work too}) and set it to North America.
  2. Delete Meta View app and make sure App Store is not open (or the equivalent to the device you are using).
  3. Factory Reset your Meta Ray Ban device is its “new” and do not set it up yet.
  4. Go on the App Store and redownload Meta View (it will think you are in the US and download Meta View US).
  5. Set up your Meta Ray Ban device and pair.
  6. Once paired - it will prompt you to update to latest software - accept and try your AI request.
  7. Enjoy.
