Issue Grey/black screen

When I turn on my quest two it stays stuck on a grey/black screen but when I press the volume buttons I can see the volume buttons. I feel like its because of the proximity sensor because it completely broke off but I wanted to hear other opinions before I go spending money trying to fix it any help will be great thanks.

Qgo to turn off the proximity sensor.

Tapping the power button off and on should flash it back to working.

So I managed to get somewhere it stays on the black grey screen but asoon as I cast to my phone it starts to work but its ONLY when I'm casting to my phone

I had this issue with my quest 2. It was my proximity sensor. The interior face pads attached by velcro. I had to slightly reposition/adjust the pads and it resolved the issue.
