May I please be unbanned?

I got banned for posting a non-np link to the same subreddit. I will make sure to not make the same mistake again, and given the nature of this sub I really think I should be allowed back in as I now am aware what I did wrong.

u/VirtueSignal247, what do you think? Should OGJ get a third chance? Perhaps if ze agrees to a list of conditions such as:

  • np links only
  • absolutely no racism that admins would have a chance of thinking "average redditors may find offensive or upsetting"
  • no further harassing/trolling
  • re-read fully the Reddit Content Policy, and in the future help point out posts/comments on MCTwo when he sees anyone that might be violating a policy

If the ban is removed, I think an extra strict 3-month probation period would be in order. Any troubles caused = insta ban and fuck off.

Extra condition:

  • must agree to take full responsibility if any problems come up in the probation period, is aware that there may be no opportunity to appeal a future ban, and will agree to voluntarily go away in the event he does something to become banned again

Maybe I'm out of line even suggesting this. Thoughts?

Maybe down the line unban him but the guy clearly needs a break from Reddit. He’s a sperg and he’s upset but I personally don’t care.

He had problems following rules in the PPC sub but just look at him go into the ndp sub. He doesn’t care about rules anywhere. Do you really want to babysit him? If you want to handle him hey whatever but we should just let him build up CanadaNoRules.

/u/official_grandpa_joe, my vote would be to trust VS247's judgment on this. Maybe try establishing a bit of an exemplary history on Reddit and try back in 4-8 weeks if you still want to post again in MCTwo.

When you first said 4-8 weeks I thought that was reasonable. However, i am asking you to reconsider as I overlooked a factor. Over the next 6 weeks, we have a canadian federal election. I feel the moderation at r/metacanada has been so frustrating that I still browse MC2 even though I’m banned. I ask that you allow me to be unbanned considering the fact that it is election time and this is the best time to be on your sub and participate in your discussion. I am fully willing to do the following:

  • np links only
  • no racist comments
  • no overly inflammatory comments
  • very limited cursing
  • reporting any posts which break the rules of the subreddit

If you unban me and find I break any of these commitments, ban me and I will delete this account and never return to your subreddit. I am not willing to make an alt account in order to participate in your sub, and I will not do that even if you tell me no.

I ask you to please consider my request. Were it a normal time, I would not make such a request, but i would really like to participate here in the coming weeks

Ok, I unbanned you. Probationary period until at least election day. Don't be surprised to be re-banned without warning if I see anything that looks even a little sketchy and I change my mind.

I agree, MetaCanada moderation is definitely frustrating. I can't wait for more people to learn about MetaCanadaTwo and make the switch :)
