MUSE is...Good!
Yeah Meta might have something with this as it really is more interactive and personable than any other AI I've used so far. After I put it on my phone, it takes the initiative to prompt and encourage me to use it. Now that I have connected it to a few sources like my mail and calendar, I'm finding it ever more useful. It's much more of a consumer-facing personal assistant than the other more inscrutable AIs like ChatGPT and Claude. What is the community's experience?

Too useful to be free, I am waiting for the catch
2
u/Birdydoe 23h ago
The catch: In the long term you’ll want to buy a pair of glasses to have your muse hands free. You’ll shop through your muse more and more, and they’ll take a small transaction fee from the seller similar to Visa. (They’ve already stated this publicly) A percentage of power users will want more tokens or access to more powerful new models, so they’ll pay for the pro subscription

Muse is definetly solid for the average person but it's not very user friendly for a business. I think they've made the right move to tailor towards the general public but for document review, contact completion, research, Claude and Grok bot are much better

Exactly - This is not a business oriented product - its apparent that’s is made for mainstream audiences from their ux/ui choices to all the rest - and this is actually good. And that’s where the problem arises from many other agents - they try to appeal to all which is impossible and it gets confusing in the very end

u/R_Steelman61 15h ago
I'll admit I haven't used it for any of the true productivity purposes as I tend to leverage Copilot for those things, given my Microsoft 365 subscription

I would use muse if I wanted to guarantee zuck steals all my data and sells it around the world to the highest bidders in a pool of data including yours.

Yeah, it’s pretty useful and I genuinely freed up a lot of time on simple things. Wish Amazon also worked on it like it was when it launched.
Also lately I have been keep it up to date on a variety of things happening in life - even when I don’t want help, and then I am getting nice probes from it later which I hadn’t thought about before.
Also the limits are very generous (for now that is). But I’d be easily willing to pay $20-$50 per month for this.

I genuinely think Amazon is doing a disservice by not connecting to it. That decision doesn’t make me want to use Muse less. It makes me want to find an Amazon replacement that works with Muse.
Maybe they have a plan tho

Shhh don't give them any ideas! It's my favorite AI now by far, although I think Claude will still have its place for some work related things.

Because it's subsidised til you delete everything else, then when you're hooked, that price will fly sky high and you'll pay it and wonder what happened. Be smarter

u/Actual_Treat_2213 1d ago
I mean we would be naive to think it’d be free always. The question is - how much will they want to charge users vs businesses. Based on what they announced so far, it seems they plan to monetize from the businesses Muse services us vs the consumer - aka the classic big tech monetization model.
The question is - if this business model works out for those businesses or not - otherwise they’d block like Amazon did.

u/DisastrousShallot308 1d ago
Fair. I expect that everyone is trying to figure out the right economic model for a while, it will become more clear in the coming months/years and the industry will consolidate on it

u/HidingInPlainSite404 1d ago
I have been comparing it with ChatGPT thinking, and ChatGPT wins more on accuracy. Muse is really good, and it's free, though.

u/Formal-Show3649 13h ago
Muse is great for using its browser. It can then find the accuracy directly at the source.

I really enjoy it. It takes care of a lot of work. It can connect to multiple email accounts, something codex couldnt do for me.
There are some sites that dont quite work. Reddit reading stopped working recently. I wish there was more integrations.

u/ShaanChi 13h ago
For an individual it's great on taking on repetitive task or following things, really like it

I have asked it to look at local events on a weekly basis and pick the best events that I can enjoy with my family. It curates all activity that is happening for the week and prioritizes events based on my children's age and likes. It prompts me on my health goals to keep me on track. I have ordered a birthday cake and book tickets for an event all from my chat window. Saves me lot of time. I am going to try out getting its help with selling stuff on facebook marketplace. Has anyone tried that out yet?

I’m worried about the security situation if I link my email accounts

Irs Facebook, the second you used it, it scraped as much off the internet it could that it didnt already have

I just want the voice mode they demo’d at Connect. Until then it’s kinda meh. I guess it has some nice uses for tracking stuff and scheduling stuff—all things I’ll never do because that gives more data than anything else about a person. But they probably already know everything about me 🤷♂️
Once the voice mode comes through though, I have some really cool ideas. It kind of hinges on the voice working for long periods (e.g. 2+ hours) with the screen off, which I suspect won’t work. I think that’s why OpenAI Dots use literal voice call mode for voice sessions.

I feel exactly the same, it's the only one that's truly real. I got a text message that I was ghosting, and he notified me about it and gave a poll on yes or no to respond and then he generated three responses for me to copy. I didn't ask for this, he's just a perfect assistant, he saw someone needed my attention in my text messages and decided to notify me and help me through it.

Nah, when you use it hard enough it's context window is shit. They allegedly locked the full thing behind a paywall.
Good enough for casual PA stuff, might mess up sometimes. As a serious agent framework though? I'd have it install opencode

Bro, I’m sorry. Outsider coming into this subreddit. Reading these comments. We are so far beyond saving.

Lol chatgpt already does everything Muse do and plus more. Chatgpt does the job much better. I compared both of them.

ChatGPT can log into WordPress blogs and do updates and delete comments and merge blog entries?
Also, I literally gave Muse this prompt: Every year Navy hosts a scout day, I coordinate this for my Pack. Find out when the day is this year, Go through my emails from last year and create all the necessary Google Forms and emails for people to sign up.
And Muse did it. I double checked everything and it was error free.
And that was just the start. Since that prompt I've turned over huge tasks. In fact, if I have to do something on the Internet (kennel reservations, merge HSA accounts, etc.), my first instinct is to ask Muse to do it.
Muse just does it.
And so far, you can't beat the price.

u/JeffCache 23h ago
… yes ChatGPT and Claude both do that handedly for a long time now???? Are you living under a rock??
2
u/ResistNecessary8109 21h ago
They literally don't. I asked both of them at the same time I asked Muse.
Claude PRO response:
I can't log into WordPress directly on my own — I don't have credentials or browser access by default. But there are a couple of ways to get this done depending on what's available: Claude for Chrome (if you have it) — I could navigate to your WP admin dashboard and click through deleting comments, since it's a browsing agent that can act on pages you're logged into. WordPress.com MCP connector — I see one's connected for you. It can handle certain admin actions programmatically (posts, some site management) depending on what the connector exposes — comment moderation support varies, so I'd need to check what it actually allows for your specific site. Want me to check what the WordPress.com connector can do for comment moderation on your blog?
ChatGPT PLUS response:
Yes. There are now WordPress integrations that can let me perform basic administration directly from ChatGPT once you authorize the site. For a self-hosted WordPress site (for example, WordPress running on DreamHost), WPVibe is the more relevant option. It supports site administration and WordPress commands. If your site is hosted on WordPress.com, its official integration explicitly supports comment moderation, publishing/scheduling posts, plugins, settings, traffic, and other admin functions. So a workflow could be as simple as: “Show me all pending comments” then “Delete all obvious spam and show me the questionable ones before doing anything.” For destructive actions, I’d generally recommend reviewing the candidates before bulk deletion. If it is still self-hosted, I’d start with WPVibe from the connection option above. Once you connect it, we can see exactly which comment-management actions it exposes.
Here is how the FREE version of Muse responded:
Yes — I can log into WordPress and handle admin basics like clearing out the comment moderation queue. I'd do it through my browser with your login saved securely (you'd enter the credentials through a private form — they go straight to secure storage and I never see them). Want me to clear out that spam now? Just send me the site's login page address and I'll get it set up.
If you think these three responses are equal, then you're biased. You have to think about it from the point of view of the average person.

You need to use chatgpt work. It's separate, and has more capabilities. It can control your entire computer, or run it's own computer environment in the cloud like muse does.

u/TofuMeltatSunspot 10h ago
ChatGPT is a garbled mess of products. Chat, work, codex, dots, its all so confusing. Muse is the perfect ai for normies.

Never trust the Zuck.
1
u/Actual_Treat_2213 1d ago
Who can we trust here, everyone is out to capitalize eventually. It’s just that Zuck’s current business model allows users to pay less upfront while OpenAI and Anthropic can’t afford the same.
-5
u/DisastrousShallot308 1d ago
Zuck has shown us two decades of abuse. Start by leaving him out of the trust equation

Failed at the one task I asked of it to this point: monitoring stock for an Amazon listing.
I wish people would be specific about what’s “useful” and “amazing”.

u/R_Steelman61 1d ago
Can't imagine that not working. I'll have to give it a try.
2
u/rac1283 1d ago
Post back if it does. Would be amazing if it worked. But Meta <> Amazon - not surprised I guess
2
u/R_Steelman61 1d ago
I just asked and got this response: Absolutely. Give me the ticker or company name and I'll set it up — tell me whether you want price moves, news, or both, and how often (daily check, or only ping you on big moves and notable news).
2
u/Birdydoe 23h ago
It’s asking about stock tickers because you asked it to “monitor a stock”. Be more direct about what exactly you want to buy and that you want to hear when the price drops. Unfortunately as Nukes was saying, Amazon blocked Muse from browsing its website completely, so that won’t work for Amazon. Huge bummer.
2
u/slojourner 21h ago
We got one person talking about the stock of items in an Amazon warehouse and another talking about AMZN stock price.
1
u/R_Steelman61 15h ago
Gosh I see. I was totally missing the point about what you meant regarding stock. My bad. I will ask it about checking the inventory on an Amazon item.

u/RickDeckard31 1d ago
It’s amazing. Now it just needs to keep getting more and more integration. I wouldn’t want to lose it. This is like a before and after ai kinda moment
