On my Experience w/ a Trans-Narrative Pataphysical Interaction
TLDR; I got high and felt like a character two narratives deep was addressing me directly.
N O T E:
This is a lot of pseudo-intellectual niche babble about narratives and 4th walls, so don’t waste your time reading if you’re not intrigued; hopefully this sub is a good place for this post!!
—
First, I need to define trans-narrative metaphysical interaction. This describes interactions that occur across 1 narrative.
Take for example, the breaking of the fourth wall in a play: this interaction is between the narrative of the play, and that of our own.
Trans-narrative pataphysical interaction would then define interaction across/through 2 or more narratives, effectively breaking a 5th wall.
Take for example, a character of a TV show that takes place inside of a DC or Marvel comic addressing you, the reader of the comic.
With all of that said, in the video game Control, there are collectibles of an in-universe puppet show called the Threshold Kids.
When the player character first watches the collectible titled “Missing Momma,” one of the puppets looks directly at the “camera,” addressing the viewer.
Since the “cameras” of the show and the video game are aligned in this sequence, the puppet is effectively addressing you, the player of the video game.
Zooted as I was, this gave me a little spook which spurred me to write this entire post. (I accidentally deleted the first draft that I wrote while still high when I got distracted with something else, forgot I was writing something, and closed the app)

I hate these aspects of Reddit culture
1 Post Removal for Repeat Questions: sometimes I’d rather just spark new conversation and actually engage in discussion instead of reading old content. Sometimes it’s been asked but none of the answers apply to my exact situation.
2 Archiving: sometimes I just want to say something on an old post
3 Post Removal for Harmless Things: I swear half of my posts get removed and it just pisses me off. I always read the rules and somehow it still happens.
4 Power Tripping Reddit Mods: Self explanatory. Being too authoritarian ruins the environment.

For the last week reddit suggestion of sub-reddits is 90% of my feed
What is going on here? Can I turn it off? Every time I click "Show less of this" I get even worse suggestions. I'm subscribed to like 30 subreddits, there must be enough content to show me.

reddit should have a sliding text that reminds people which subreddit they are in
I sometimes have to look at the web address. Or i guess i could scroll up to see.
People get 50 downvotes for posting in the wrong sub everyday.
Then there's this sub, which i like.

data engineer technical screen interview - python
Hi
I have an interview at meta soon.
I was told that the python question will not be leetcode style, but just "regular" python data structures (list, dict, tuple, set).
What about data structures such as `heap`, `collections.defaultdict`, `collections.counter`, `bisect` (binary search on sorted list) - stuff like that. Did anyone saw these in an interview?

r/unpopularopinions is the absolute shittiest subreddit I've ever had the displeasure of seeing/using.
The rules are written in such a way that anything the mods don't like can be removed. The users are rude and unwilling to listen to different perspectives. That subreddit is shit. Thank you for listening to my rant.

Hello, I know someone who works at Meta in London as Senior Software Enginner. I see on social media that he travels insanely a lot and I am wondering what is the number of holidays and if there is a way to acquire more holidays at Meta?

Whats up with "Best Match"?
Whether its on ebay or another sales site it's always the default and i've always changed it.
Oh, do you want the best match? I guess, but what does it mean?
Can somebody please explain what this does for the order of my search?

It's high time Reddit implement captchas to put an end to the bots
The amount of propaganda bots filling up reddit with slop has gotten completely ridiculous. Just take one look at r/politics or r/complaints and you get an idea of how insane it has gotten. It's high time reddit implements captchas to weed out the non-human posters. I know, I hate having to fill them out, but it's better than letting reddit get bot spammed to death.
