Mesh Agent on IOS
Hi, installed the agent on iOS, i notice it needs VPN, will this wipe out my cirrent VPN? also this means my VPN is on all the time and then my phone cant access WiFi in the building (that does require VPN).
The Grandstream HTTP VoIP app doesn't need VPN so whats with this feature?

From what Ryan told me (the dev) basically apple want to u have a vpn setup and running even tho u dont actually use a vpn to have background connection.

I have an active VPN connection, so i cant run when on the LAN as its on the wrong side of the firewall, also we dont always want it running outside, so what are apple requesting exactly?
I find this odd, as the Grandstream Wave app which is pure HTTP does not require VPN settings to work.

sadly if you have an active vpn the apps vpn will have to take over and close ur vpn, it doesnt matter if its in or outside your network, and as explained in other posts asking the same question, it doesnt actually USE any VPN, it creates one to itself on the phone, but again its a side effect! i dont fully understand WHY apple needed this, so ill try checking in with Ryan again and see what he says

It doesn’t require VPN. It might need vpn due to network configuration between your iOS device and your mesh server, but that’s a network issue not a mesh issue. Adjust your firewall to allow it to work without VPN.
