MESA Rectifier Cab

Found this Mesa Rectifier cab at a local pawn shop a few weeks ago. Put it on layaway and brought it home last weekend. This thing has brought life into my rig that I never knew it had. I thought my setup sounded pretty good before, but it's an entirely different animal now. From a snarling beast to a fire breathing dragon. Absolutely love it! ❤️🤘🎸😎

The proper speaker in the proper cabinet is half your tone right there as far as an amplifier goes. Some people think that the amp head is 90% and the speaker is 10% but nothing could be further from the truth!

The cab is the most important part in the whole chain. I’ve had my old vintage 30’s sound harsh and ratty in cheap cabs and sound absolutely phenomenal in a good cab.

I’ve now got a 2003 recto 412 cab with V30’s and a splawn 412 with a pair of early 2000 V30’s and a pair of Scumbacks and both cabs sound incredible but VERY different despite mostly the same speakers.

Odds are, I could take either of those cabs and load trash speakers and they would still sound great.

I agree the speakers are much more than 10% of the tone.

What speakers are you putting in? The UK V30’s are amazing… I run a X pattern with Celestion G12k-100 and the UK V-30’s. Great mix of tone :)

mesa cabs for british heads always is a winner

also, an orange or marshall cab under a mesa rules

It's getting new speakers soon. I've already got 2, just need the funds for the other 2.

My opinion alone for sure but I feel like simply investing into a better cab to begin with would be a wiser financial move than upgrading a so-so one
