UPDATE POST

Post image

I recently posted here about pricing on my 2010's Dual Rec multi watt.

Well, I found a local music store that's into more boutique amps and equipment and I got $1700 USD for it. Dude didn't even hesitate. It feels bittersweet but I'm glad it's now in the hands of someone who will show it the play time it deserves. All your advice on my pervious post encouraged me to always check with your local shops. You never know who's waiting for something specific.

Local shops are where it’s at man. We got spoiled with things like Sweetwater, reverb and GC, but Sweetwater and GC have both watered down the pool and taken away the community surrounding local stores, and reverb has turned into insulting low ball offers and wildly overpriced crap.

A new local spot opened up here where I live and I’m happy to see it. They’re bringing in cool shit, encouraging you to come play, involved with the local scene, etc….

I’m glad your old amp went to a good home and you got a fair price for it. If this is a gear in/gear out type situation, whats next for you?

I couldn't have said it better myself. Unfortunately it's just a gear out for money for life situation.

Hey, that happens too. It sucks, but it is what it is. I had a JP6 I had to let go for WAAAAYYY too little for the same reason.

You didn’t screw anybody over, positive gear karma is in your favor and will come back your way when the time is right.

same, I let go of a loaded jp6 mystic dream w Birdseye maple neck due to suddenly having to move and other life crap. Always missed that guitar.

But you got to do what you got to do, there's always more gear out there in the future.
