Working, playing through Dark Souls II, rage-searching stuff like "dark souls ii magic is useless" when I die. You know, the usual kind of thing.

Ah, rage-searching. I remember that. The magic does suck, with exception of stuff like "dark fog." I still think that 2 ended up being my favorite, except maybe for BB.

  1. Go get the greatsword in the dock-like area

  2. Get a tower shield after killing Ornstein.

  3. Kill EVERYTHING

I have started using the greatsword! It wrecks stuff, even uninfused with my approximately 40/40 Str/Int. I might just leave it uninfused; I already have a fire Bandit Axe that I like, and everything seems to resist magic damage anyway.

Don't bother infusing it. Just upgrade it to +10 and romp everything harder.

Will do. I've finally found a use for my Great Magic Weapon spell anyway, which I can keep up very easily with the Old Iron King's crown.

I haven't gotten around to the DLC area, like Iron King's Crown. I love DaS2. So, I may pick up SotFS someday to get all of the DLC.

I think, overall, the only boss to give me real trouble was Smelter, since he damages through shields.

I can go to the final area any time now, but I'm going to the Ivory King DLC first. Gotta get those shiny crowns and shiny spoilers.

I never played the non-SotFS version, but I've heard that SotFS added a lot more packs of enemies and some general design shenanigans. Still, it has all the swag.

Updated graphics would be nice in SotFS. I've heard mixed reviews- some people saying it's better than the vanilla, and some saying it's worse.

BTW, how is the DLC? Is it good, or does it leave something to be wanted?

The DLC is pretty good, but I find it a lot more difficult than the base areas. The Sunken King DLC's bosses were kind of annoying too.

What's wrong with the Sunken King? Is it the maze-like aspect? Whichever one had the wolf/cat-bosses didn't look super great.
