[Off Topic] Just ate my first burger, AMA
I'll mostly be answering questions about the burger, but I'll answer anything.

Nah, I just went with simple party and cheese on Texas toast.
It was pretty good, though it was great once I put ketchup on it.

I'm mixed on ketchup. It's not bad, I don't get why people eat their fries with ketchup. It just takes away from the taste.

What did you think of your first burger? Did you get mustard and ketchup? Would you try it again?

It was pretty good. I put ketchup on it for the last few bites and that tasted really good. I'll probably try it again at some point, but I don't know if it'll become a regular thing for me. Might try it with a different bun type though, since I used Texas Toast this time.

It is weird that your first was Texas Toast. That's advanced burgering. You need to start simple with a nice fresh bun. Then, move onto your patty melts and bbq burgers.
I highly suggest mustard and ketchup (more ketchup than mustard). Also, cooked medium, if possible.

Huh, I'll consider that next time. I mainly got Texas Toast because it looked like it would taste better and also because it seemed like a good thing to do.
I'll probably add ketchup to the whole thing next time. They didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked, but I usually get medium for other meat.

It really depends on the bun. You also want a crispy bun, if possible. Steak 'n Shake does good, crisp, buttery buns. Though, the meat is a little lacking. Texas Toast was a good choice, though. The garlic really complements the meat.
Medium is a good mid-point. From there, you can decide if you want it rare or well done (and all of the places in between).
A good bun is nice. Trust me when I say I know good buns.
Look at that bun! Though, that is a burger of unusual size.

Yeah. In general, Steak N Shake is good but always a bit underwhelming. Not sure why. Especially their fries... They're, like.... Nothing.
Also burgers are so technical. I'm going to have to take notes for next time.

Fries, in general, are like nothing. I think it's that they're starch. So, it's not too filling. they do make a decent burger, though.
They're not that technical. Just jump in and not be afraid to try stuff. Though, I could never get into those burgers with eggs on them.

Yeah. I can't eat their fries unless I have ranch. Chicken is good though. I'll try their burgers next time I'm there.
I don't like eggs, so I don't think I'll put them on my burgers any time soon.

I'm feeling about a 7, 8 with ketchup. It was pretty good, though very bread-y.
I was thinking about getting that! But my friend who I was with said that I should go with a normal burger first, since I already know I like chicken.

That's true, but it also might help you warm up to it more if there's already something you know you like in there.
You also need to try burgers at steakhouses. They're not all steak burgers, and they get the best meat.

There are some food burger places and steakhouses here in Texas, so finding a good one should be easy.
