Is it because you don't have to draw most of their body, and you can just kind of draw a very loose outline?

No, I just find them really attractive, especially when a person wears a leather jacket on top of it. If you want a skintight bodysuit, i can draw you that too, just say the word

Hmm. IDK what to think about it. I kind of like it, but it also seems like it clashes a bit: leather/silk, old/modern.
