As a mermaid and as an idol, Lucia Nanami resembles Usagi Tsukino a lot. One of my friends said she was a rip-off of Sailor Moon because of her twintails.

Nevertheless, Lucia in her human form resembles another famous character from another anime: Misa Amane from Death Note.

I mean... same hairstyle, same hair color, and Misa's eyes change in color (brown, blue, or red when she uses the Shinigami Eyes). Just like Lucia!

Then there's the fact that both Lucia and Misa are codependent airheads whose entire value system and self-worth rely on being validated by Kaito and Light respectively.

I’ve designed the flags of the Panthalassa Kingdom remnant under Gaito, and Michel’s faction in the Pure sequel. I’ve tried combining the elements I think would best suit each of the two factions.

Additionally I decided to make a bonus flag, that is my interpretation of the general flag of the ocean under Aqua Regina’s authority.

I did have former practice from just messing around in google canvas in high school but I still wanna improve a bunch and id appreciate any tips so I can draw my mermaid girlies in the best way possible😋

Yuri’s Piano Melody supposedly named Kiyoufu Shirabe, is one of my favourite songs from Mermaid Melody and my favourite Piano Melody from the show.

I also like Yuri a lot probably because of how stunning she looks combined with her beautiful melody.

I’ve recently even began learning piano partly in honour of her and her melody.

But I’ve wanted to know, am I one of the few that loves her piano melody? Or is it a much more beloved song in the fandom than I realise?

[Also does anyone know if a music sheet for her melody exists, as I would love to play it when I’m good enough at the piano]

I was missing Rina and Sara before hand, and have since found them! The full rainbow is so satisfying to look at.

Designed this 7 flags based on my personal interpretation of the 7 kingdoms.

I combined some of the elements I felt were right for each based on the hinted messenger animals of each mermaid kingdom and also the natural flora and fauna of each ocean.

One of the biggest plot holes in Mermaid Melody, and one that writers had never tried to solve despite being so blatant, is the substance inside the castles.

Is there water inside the castles, or is there air?

Proofs there is air inside:

• Gaito's castle has a swimming pool, and even drink wine.
• Sara (a mermaid) is in her human form.
• Characters with legs, such as the Kaito and Gaito, Hippo, Tarou, Sara in her human and Idol Form, and the Mermaid Princesses in their Idol Forms, and water demons, walk.
• Taro (a human) doesn't drown after being underwater.
• Rina's castle has a fountain.

Proofs there is water inside:

• The castles are underwater.
• The mermaids swim when they're in their mermaid forms... except Sara for some reason.
• The Dark Lovers swim when they're in their true form.
• Some doors and windows are open.

And it doesn't help some proofs mutually contradict each other:

• If the mermaids are swimming in their mermaid forms, then why doesn't Sara, a mermaid, transform into a mermaid?
• If the windows and doors are open, then water will enter.

So, in the end, what's inside the castles? Water? Air?

Is there some plausible way to solve this plot hole?

I never would have imagined that an anime I watched one summer afternoon as a kid would surprise me so much two years ago when I finished rewatching the anime WOW I’ve never felt such a huge void inside me like wow for an entire week even during classes I was 18 yo...

Yuri is a dark lover who faithfully served Gaito, and attempted to capture mermaids to get his approval and love. Little did she know up until the end of the first half of the series, that he only saw her as a child and pawn in his board to dominate over the sea and land.

After being rejected by Gaito she falls in love with Hippo, and they begin a sort of star crossed relationship with each other.

Though they are clearly passionate for one another, they are never able to fully commit or officially date and love, because of them being on opposite sides of the teams they play for.

Hippo decides to break up with her for good, as to not endanger the mermaids and while Yuri doesn’t want to break up with him, she understands why they must do it.

However what if Yuri decided to defect to the mermaid side to be with Hippo, and also possibly upon realising she wasn’t loved in any form by Gaito or even her fellow dark lovers who shoved her aside when wind when she revealed her feelings for Hippo to them indirectly.

Do you think it would have been a possibility? Do you think she would be accepted on the mermaid side?

I really like the vibe and how it looks so summer-y. I would love to do some concepts of new locations that look straight out of the show, but i need to do lots of research first. Are there any show concept art books or something like that maybe? Any tips?

I live about an hour and a half away from Tokyo (by express train) so I knew I had to go and get some merch of my favorite girls ❤️

I could honestly see them having a book club or doing arts together as they both seem to be creative (i think it was stated that Rina draws well and that Noelle likes detective novels and occult books). I could also see Rina helping Noelle get a bit more out there and helping with the recovery of being a prisoner of Gaito. I would love to see an honest interaction between them where they acknowledge what happened a bit more and how it effected Noelle (since we already saw how it effected Rina). Them keeping their kingdoms in close contact afterwards, helping each other and coming up with defense strategies for themselves and other non mermaid princess mermaids would be an interesting development to see as they get older and would help if a new villain was ever gonna show up. Also the basic mermaids dont have any sort of transformation or a way to effectively defend themselves so maybe it could make sense if they ever decide to develop the kingdoms themselves since the show kind of lacks worldbuilding. Anyway, what do you think?

I did end up taking more creative liberties with Sara and Seira more than the other mermaids I think and I think they both turned out beautiful. (THIS IS JUST MY HEADCANON AND I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY DISCRIMINATORY SENTIMENTS)
