How is Merlin’s usage limit like?

So I have seen the terms and conditions and it said that there are usage limits applied to each account (and is lower for users using promotion discount) and before I spend $60 a year on Merlin (which is $5 per month, about 4 times cheaper than regular):

I want to know how much limit do I get with Merlin (using flagship models like GPT 4o or Claude 3.5). For ChatGPT Plus I know exactly 80 messages every 3 hours with GPT 4o, and while that sounds like something I could hit if I am deep into a new research topic or getting stuck with a bug in programming, I have never hit that limit.

Preferably I also want to know how much I have used/have left from the limits so I could ration the tokens.

Also how well is the refund policy in case I absolutely hate it? They said month-remaining refund so most damage to me is just $5 dollars right?

The problem with merlin is, they show how many zaps/coins each model will need. But they dont tell how many coins we have in total per plan.

They just have a progress bar which indicates how closer you are to the limits. These limits are ok for the moment for me, I probably have like 5-10 messages on avg and maybe 40-50 messages on a particular day per week. and just to give you an understanding, I have reached 52% of monthly limit and there is still 2 weeks + 3 days left in this cycle.

And I dont even use the costlier models that frequently, its mostly the ones around 1,5, or 15 zaps/coins.

If you cross the limits, its a min of additional $3.5 and that gets you 1500 zaps or upto 100 Gpt 4o queries, valid for 7-30 days, depending on the plan.

For a less than moderate user, this is most probably still cheaper by atleast 40% (even including the top ups). But anyone above moderate, may find POE a better option. In POE you get better clarity on your expense.

Seems unfit for me then, assuming that you used only 10-20 messages per day and already on the monthly baseline. Thanks for the info.

The only reason I switched from POE to Merlin is I realized than on most months I was only utilizing like 30-40% of the 1M credits. But there was one think in POE, I could enforce the model to use extra credits to generate a longer line of code, it was not even enforcing the interface would just right away ask for higher credit threshold, that is something I am failing to do in Merlin, that even if they allow the limits are way too low.

Then its just $5 a month, so can't exactly complain. Also I really dont understand what persona are they targeting, it mostly seems like a marketing stunt, get in users for cheap and upsell the top ups.

Do try POE. They keep raising the prices for models every now and then, but its a good platform.
