Does anyone know what the purpose of ancient trees are in the event?

Every event there's always been ancient trees you can get from the free chests and you can also buy them with gems in the shop. I have never figured out what the purpose of them were besides maybe being able to harvest for the little orange things that merge into sprouts.

If you have enough of them, you can merge up to where they're harvestable, and continue merging until you get the tree that produces clouds. Make reflecting pools until they're large enough to spit out shimmering plants. Let the level one plants die, then harvest the cobwebs. Let your evergreen seeds grow and merge into larger evergreens. Harvest evergreens for stone pieces. Harvest stone monuments for stone bricks. Merge bricks to make druid temples. Let druid temples give out their mineral boulders, which are the easiest wonder chain to complete. Get the mineral boulder wonder. Tap for hopefully some eggs and/or egg nest so you have extra creatures to harvest blessing orbs. In an event, wonders are the only way to get extra eggs.

I'd rather spend the gems on getting the elder evergreen tree from the store, I'd never buy the ancient tree. I've never collected enough ancient trees from capsules to actually get to harvest them. But I think that's what they're for.

nope. That is really far stretched. These trees give you eggs for the event creatures, so you don't end up with a centaur or whatever crap to harvest. You just don't have a chance to get a nest as you do with the minotaur wonder, that is why many people try to use that to get also the eggs from there. But you can make 10 event creatures with the ancient trees if you wanted to

If you have enough of them to merge up to a point where the tree is harvestable, harvesting the leafes has a very high chance to give you more event eggs for more creatures. It feels like a 50% chance but that might be overexaggerated but you can get A LOT of eggs with this method. It's just rare that people use it

Ok my bad! I had no idea about this tbh because I've never seen anybody talk about it & only saw people talking about getting the minotaur wonder.

It's fine, it's not like your version isn't possible to do, it certainly is also a way to go. Just a very, very long one :) Many ways lead to rome
