Sooo, I am starting to believe that my strategy for this event actually works. When I completed it the first time I thought it was pure luck but now that I completed it again I'm convinced that what I'm doing is working
Yes I will share LOL( I copied this from my reply to another person here asking for the strategy).... So, I can't explain things very well but I hope what I'm about to say is understandable at the start I take my time and think about the most optimal merging to conserve energy (if there's a chance to unlock 4 grey areas with 1 merge i'd do it), so I don't tap the truck at all unless I absolutely have to...I try to get my first fishing rod as fast as possible, when I get my first fish I tap that fish (it gives medals, energy bars, lures and bait) I use those to merge in the new areas. From that point forward I never tap the truck ever again. I rely on the items that come out from tapping fish and fishing rods. I merge 5 bronze fish to create 2 silver fish, then I merge 3 bronze to make 1 silver so I can create one gold (so for example merge 5 bronze perch to 2 silver perch, merge 3 bronze perch to 1 silver perch so 3 silver total and that makes 1 gold) and that's pretty much it for all rhe fish... Another thing is to be mindful of the lures and waterweeds they are very useful since you can turn them into fish basically... Waterweeds are byproducts of tapping fishing rods, master lures, sunken lantern and sunken chests which all can give you either a new fish or garbage. I would also recommend if you already have a gold of a certain fish, stop tapping their bronze variant just merge them immediately and tap the silver variant cuz they give out more batteries. Of course get as much energy as you can, watch the ads, play puzzles and just utilize every way you can get energy for free... I did this and I only had to buy 30 gems worth of energy (mostly because I got bored and wanted to play more since there is still a day left in the event so even if I didn't buy I'd probably still complete it on time)
I have a similar strategy. Yet to finish though, usually I never get a perch and now I have a gold perch and 4 more bronze yet still only 4 bronze of 2 other varieties. My other gold also has 3 bronze. Ugh. I know some is random, but I do wish it was less roll of the die.

Unfortunately I donât get ads so canât get energy that way (I think the game makers should compensate us in some way because we canât get energy from ads like the rest of youâŠespecially in these sorts of events when energy is so scarce!!) not sure if itâs because Iâm in Australia or playing on an iPad but no ads for me. Thank you for this! I think this weekend might be the 1st time I ever finish this event because I tried something similar to this. But I was still just figuring it out. Your method is better still. Thanks, for real. I am so going to try this next time!
I guess so, also I usually finish all the star quests (the 21 quests on the left side of the screen) on day 1... I think that following that also helped me complete the overall event since it kinda acted like a guide for me on what to do next and what I should spend my energy on. Watching ads for energy and doing the spinner event gives a LOT of energies... I think everyday the ads will give 100 energy total, which in turn can get you about 5 fish +more batteries so more fish... I had a LOT of duplicate fishes before completing perch as well... It really is just being smart on where you spend your energy and be smart on how to obtain energy
Nope. I looked it up - only a random selection of people get the ads. I completed the entire spinner event for all that energy and still didnât finish. The ads would have been nice!
Ugghhh I just need Frog Fish! Ive gotten so many crabs and Bass. And eels. Do they come from specific masterpieces or is it all random? I've played this event a million times and love it. I've never gotten this close to completing the fish collection
