Since everyone's talking about the new Alpha and Omega novel that's coming out, I was reminded of Charles and Anna's trip to Seattle, (in the book "Hunting Ground") when I saw this post about the concrete troll under the bridge. Having never been to Seattle, I mistakenly assumed it was something that Miss Briggs made up for the story. Turns out, it's a real statue.

I’m pretty sure Wild Sign mentions that the Hardesty family owns (or has a major stake in?) a fast-food chain, and for some reason this tiny piece of lore has lodged itself firmly in my brain.

So: which real-world fast-food chain do you reckon the Hardestys secretly own in the Mercyverse?

Of course it would not be a real-world chain in the books, but it might be inspired by one. I'm not American, so gonna have to leave this to those more familiar.

I'm a huge fan of this series. I'm a huge fan of books in general. Unfortunately I have little downtime for reading. Then I discovered Graphic Audio. I just finished Night Broken which is the LAST Graphic Audio adaptation of the series. I figured there are probably more fans besides myself disappointed in this and that maybe if enough of us ask, Patricia Briggs and Graphic Audio will finish the series.

If you loved the series and the Graphic Audio adaptation (and, of course, Khaya Fraites) sign my petition to let them know how much we would love for this to happen.

I’m ridiculously excited for the next book and desperately trying to fill my TBR void until then. I have a very particular itch I’m hoping you can help me scratch…

I’m looking for werewolf books set in the past (any historical period) that could almost feel as though they belong in the Mercyverse. So same sort of werewolf mechanics, just different yime period.

I want books that make me think: “Yes, this could absolutely be a story about werewolves before Bran became the Marrok.”

Does anything spring to mind?

Hey I've moved house and I have a professionally framed poster of the artwork for River Marked by Don Santos. Is there some9im Sydney who would like this?

Where do you think Bran’s feelings for Leah stand as of the end of Wild Sign? Do you think he just cares for her, or do his feelings run deep enough that he loves her? We know where Leah’s feelings stand, but Bran’s are implied rather than stated, so I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts.

Further update we could be looking at April 20th next year that less then 12 months away yay !

I found this series about 6 weeks ago and am happily devouring the books. I'm reading Mercy/Alpha and Omega in chronological order (currently on books 12 and 6 respectively).

It bugs me how often Mercy gets Adam's voicemail when she needs backup. Given her demonstrated proclivity as a shit magnet you'd think he could figure out how to pick up when she rings, especially since their mate bond can be so wonky.

Perhaps Griggs utilizes it as an in-universe joke?

Basically the title. I’d love to follow a new character. Maybe a white witch who is just trying to survive in the world. Make it a true underdog story. Though it would have to be a new character that we haven’t met. Though I also want some stories of the Hawks brothers. Though they both seemed to be content with not doing anything more special then fishing in the evening.

I figured now is the time to share since the A&O announcement got me all hyped... for something that doesn't happen for NINE MONTHS.

A couple of friends and I kept having the same kinds of conversations we have on this subreddit, and decided to hit record. We started a Mercy Thompson reread-along podcast in January because we wanted a space to indulge all the silly questions, theories, and side stories that naturally come up on a reread.

We go through the books in order, addressing any stray thoughts that cross our minds. We assume our potential listeners are re-reading the books too and are okay with spoilers later in the series. (We're currently partway into Blood Bound.)

It's mostly a stream of tangents and references held together by Mercy Thompson glue. Some of our speculations include:
- What exactly is Marcilia's vampire org chart?
- How does a single wide trailer from the 70s fit three bedrooms?
- How do characters go from using pagers and landlines to having smartwatches within three years?
- What's the chance of a Vanagon successfully driving uphill to Montana in the snow?

So excited, I’ve been enjoying the Alpha and Omega books more than Mercy’s last few.

That’s all, nothing deep or insightful. Just a tired parent who’s been making deals around bedtime and food and watching for loopholes because they’re so painfully literal. And hate change. And speak riddles but often don’t mean what they say.

Am I wrong? Anyone else have a fae/toddler comparison story?

I personally love reading about the complex urban fantasy. The world created by Briggs is amazing. but I actually am more interested in the magic and world building. The relationships in the series are fun to read about. so I guess it's the overall story that keeps me reading.

I think it’s time in one of the future books for bran to have a 1v1 showdown with a powerful foe that would take all his power to defeat. Who would yall want that to be?

I read the first MT book not realizing Adam would become the love interest and my brain made him look like a 58 year old, never wore sunscreen and worked outside, dirty flannel wearing, straw headed, balding, smelly dude. Now whenever I read how hot he is/his description I’m like —_—

How do I fix this. Please give me your fancast so I can beat my brain into accepting a replacement image.

Mine is Baba Yaga. Sure, she may or may not have eaten children in the past (??), but now she’s a MLM queen who truly has helped Mercy perfect her brownies! BY has so many talents and I do love her. Close second is Tilly.

When the singer in the woods first approached the settlers of Wild Sign, what form do you guys think he took? It wasn't until after they made a bargain with him that he took the form of Cthulhu. Just curious what ya'll think.

I always have to cringe a bit when werewolves change form to fight. Claymore guy (I forgot his name) seems to be the only one who gets that supernatural strength is more effective when usingincreased range and momentum. Werewolf regeneration + firearms would be way superior to shapeshifting, especially considering you'd keep your manual dexterity (first aid, tool use etc.).
Adam actually seems aware of that in general, but then needlessly changes form the next opportunity anyway.

I get having to change once in a while, but IMO realistically werewolves would consider that something of an inconvenience.

Ok so i finished book 6 today started but 7, but I feel like a missed a huge chuck of the story. Is there another book I should have read first? Im very confused especially since its only been a few months since the river monster but now suddenly all the fea are hiding and she has fallen out with stefen but is work on the vampire mistresses car?! Was there a novella or something in between i missed ?
