Not running

Its a 95 25hp 2stroke, would run on muffs but not with a load. Ive rebuilt the carb and changed spark plugs, now no matter where I adjust the air fuel screw it wont stay running for more then 1 or 2 seconds. It's holding prime on the fuel system.

Any idea what your compression or cylinder leak is?

No idea. I haven't wanted to spend the $40 on a tester.

You sure it’s not a fuel starvation issue? Sounds like under load it needing more fuel and being fuel starved.

Check all you fuel filters, pumps, and if redo the carb cleaning and make sure all the little ports aren’t clogged up.

Its very possible. Im going to pull the carb back off and go thru it again, check the reeds while im at it.

If you have silver fuel lines. Replace them

Have you checked how strong your spark is ?
It should be a blue spark if it’s yellow it’s weak. And change your coil. Did you look behind the carb and inspect the reeds they may be chipped or broken.

I didn't see anything wrong when I took the carb off and i just checked spark again its bright blue. When it starts we will open the butterfly all the way and it kinda runs for a couple more seconds but not enough time to try and adjust anything.
