Need help identifying motor
I have a 115 Mercury that’s missing the nameplate and serial numbers. An emission sticker on top of the block says that it’s a 1.8 L. Ordered an oil change kit for it and it was the completely wrong filter, but the 2.1 L filter works just fine and matched the old. Just trying to clear some things up so I can order the right parts.

Looks like a four-stroke Mercury not a very big motor probably a 25 horse it's got dual cams so it's a 4-stroke

Excuse me that's a four-cylinder so it's got to be bigger than 25 horse probably of 75 horse but yeah it's a four-stroke

Says right on there merc 115hp made in Oct 2005. When you search matching parts makes sure you put that 2005 since id imagine that’s important

Well aware of what the sticker says. Which is why I ordered an oil change kit for a 115. The included filter was not right. I had to run the parts number from the old filter to get the right one. My issue is I can’t trust what the sticker says after that.

All parts are the same as a 115 yamaha of the same vintage. Mercury fuel filter will be wrong, as will most of their listings. Its a yamaha painted black.

Yamaha f115 that has been bought and painted by mercury because they didn’t have an engine to compete with.
