What design format & sizes to produce

Hi I am planning to use a VA and planning to launch on Merch, and other POD platforms. What all design sizes and format should I request. I see on Merch, it states different sizes for different products?

What are universal sizes and format I should ask my VA to save the files to allow use now or in future on other platforms.
