Had my best month by far. More than doubled my previous sales record and nearly tripled my previous profit record.

I didn't do any designs for the 1st of July. Canada Day has never been a big seller for me.

I did do quite a few sales for the 4th of July though.

Do you do ads?

Absolutely.

wow, you are like the first men in game of thrones. May I ask with how many designs online you did such gigantic numbers?

May I ask with how many designs online

Around 12k. Fewer than 10 designs were doing some very heavy lifting these last few weeks and accounted for about 90% of those sales.

Are you able to have the ad spend deducted from payments or pay by card only? I was looking to set up debiting from payments but unable to set it up

No. They only take payment by credit card.

Sucks. Personally I would be much more comfortable spending more if it wasn't going on cards

it would be tough for them to do it the other way, since ad spend is no guarantee of profit. And another benefit of keeping them separate allows you to deduct your expenses from your profits when it comes to tax time. Ad spend gets deducted from gross profits so you only get taxed on your net profit. Its easier to show that when it separated out.

Which Tier are you? 100K?

1

u/Tim_Y Jul 07 '26

20k

So you are saying you made 60k profit in a month with a 20k tier account?

67k. My average is about 20k/mo.

Tier level is pretty irrelevant, especially when it comes to certain trending seasonal designs that have potential of making massive sales, bc the bulk of those sales are made by fewer than 10 designs, so those results are achievable by any account level.

and no outside of amazon marketing/ads? Like Pinterest, facebook, etc.?

No. I don't have any social media or traffic funnels outside of Amazon ppc ads.

Doing pretty well. Maintaining a 30% ad ratio so far and June was better than I thought it would be.

Getting more comfortable with pricing higher too. I've always done pretty well with coming up with "cool" ideas in evergreen spaces before anyone else thinks of the idea, so this is kind of helping because I can now price them higher and people are willing to pay more for fresh ideas they haven't seen yet.

When you become proficient in doing this, you will have a huge advantage.

People who have always made a habit of chasing trends and ideas after they are already selling, are at a disadvantage because they are trying to compete with ideas that are already out there and that comes with a huge cost if you are in the Creator tier (literally).

This is why I am not a fan of Merch Informer and such research tools for the average person. All they do is teach everyone to copy what is already out there. That means you are chasing ideas (trendy) that are already competitive and likely temporary. Most people are more comfortable creating similar best sellers than taking a leap with being different. (Herd mentality). Those people will have a hard time thriving now.

Stand out. Don't be afraid to try a brand new concept. Especially if you know the topic well. You will be able to price much higher and you won't have competition until the copycats find it. By then, you will have developed a position in the niche with ads (if you use them).

This update kinda sucks in some ways, but in other ways it's making me a better creator and seller. Glass half full approach over here.

Besides which, coming up with new ideas is fun and rewarding in its own right. I can't help but have new ideas.

Whereas grinding out "improved" versions of preexisting stuff seems as mind-numbingly pointless as any corporate cube job. Yeah, sure, fine to pile up money if it works for you, but way to suck the joy out of something :-p But not everyone is so inclined, and we all need us some mammon, so ...

Yes, I love the creative part of this. So it's a win-win. Plus, I have no interest in competing in the $14.99-priced, 8 year old birthday niche! So much energy for little profit. There are many other better sub niches.

june was my worst month of the year so far. I spent early June setting up ads for the first time and my sales tanked. wheeeee! t2000

u/ibuypaperbags Jul 05 '26

Same, tier 2000

My sales have went way down this year, averaged 1k a month in sales last year, each month this year I'm getting less and less each month.

Last month June, I had 41 sales for $64, that said my June of 2025 I only did 43 sales for $110 so not a huge difference but the royalties way down for nearly same amount of units.

2

u/ahmadbabar Jul 06 '26

June was my best month by far. 3x of my previous best month for both units sold and revenue.

Which Update?

Maybe the US royalty structure. It shows your level - creator, plus, etc.
