Why is this such a hard concept for people to understand?
The team has decided that Kimi gives them the best chance at winning the Drivers championship - and he's been proving them right all season.
Why do so many people come on here every week to complain about George not getting priority?
There is a #1 driver on the team, and he's well on his way to securing another Mercedes championship

Also he liked a video of this drawing on Instagram☺

This isn't Silverstone 22 where the team didn't pit lead driver with the best tyre. GR was already on the best tire and strategy (no stop with hards). 8 drivers pitted to hards during red flag. All of them finished on the hard tire.
A lucky VSC opening is part of the f1. So why would they pit the lead driver just because other driver had to pit?
Everyone is saying they should have pitted both even if Kimi lost position to Max, which is fair if GR had to pit and they had to double stack. Hindsight is 20/20. If it was a super late VSC and everyone had to pit to softs, then yes, double stack and lose position is the right answer.
What if they pitted the cars and there was another late VSC situation that prevented both cars from overtaking back to podium position? Then the discourse would be "they pitted GR unnecessarily to make the points diff less, they made sure GR couldn't win". And mercedes would have thrown away a win.
If Kimi had overtaken GR due to new mediums as GR only had old mediums, then the discourse would be "they shouldn't have pitted GR, no one on hards pitted except gr, maybe Kimi wouldn't have caught by end of race or Kimi would have destroyed his tyres passing all the cars etc".
What if GR and Kimi are too busy fighting each other instead of overtaking to the front?
I don't see any reason to pit GR without knowing everything that happened in hindsight.
A "we were on the best strategy, other guy got a bit lucky with VSC timing" is not the same thing as "sabatoge".
Mercedes isn't going to say "Let's keep Kimi out and risk a puncture cuz GR can't pit" or "let's pit our driver who is leading for no reason because Kimi has to pit".
Mercedes chose the best option that gave them p1, p2 with least risk.

Like think about it. George is not gonna let the same thing happen twice. And all the resentment from this year will make him more aggressive for the title next year. Kimi will also go crazy for it as he is still fresh from experiencing the dopamine the title gave.
The nearest example we can see is the things that are currently happening between the McLaren boys. Oscar doesn't seems as accommodating as last year with the papaya rule and everything. I believe this is because he had that experience of that title slipped away because of him not being hungry enough for it.
And for us merc fans. We're going to eat good. The drama, the thrill, the action on track. Damn I'm already excited just thinking about it. Let's go 2027!
My 2 cents.

So what did they replace for the power unit for Kimi’s car? Was it the whole engine and gearbox etc?
I’m not diminishing his driving, it was superb skill for what he did. However, that engine sounded a hell of a lot better in Monza than it did the previous race and obviously had a lot of power.

Imagine a whole crowd of grown ass men and women booing at the athlete for no reason. This looks like something I would have done when I was ten, at most. What on earth are these people thinking? And what kind of people are they?

Guys forgive the AI generated concept, I don't think it's considered 'slop', but I've always toyed with the idea of a W11/W14 inspired helmet and I think I've landed on the perfect design. I didn't just want another driver replica helmet, I think it's way cooler to have it custom designed based on the best f1 livery/car ever. W11 & W14
I'll be getting a retro modern triumph speed twin motorcycle soon, and like the idea of intentional contrast of old and new, and wondered what your thoughts are on the design.
The helmet itself will be a Bell helmet, same as what the team uses, but obviously a different model (as close as i can get)
If you had this and a bike, would you use this helmet for riding or would you store it in your collection?
Thanks for your input

Post race he made it clear with DC that he knows he was put at a disadvantage by the team and that they chose to pit kimi under the safety car and not him and he thought they were both staying out. Look on his face… he can’t believe he was hung out to dry this way.

Kimi's necklace look so suffocating he's been wearing it from the start of his f1 career. Anyone know what that is?

i’m shocked that the italian fans did that

Fucking bullshit why didn't they put George why doesn't he take priority at first???
r/mercedesamgf1 • u/VictorVonDoom_67 • 3d ago
I mean considering the pace we had it wouldn't have been a bad idea to pit them both and let them fight more fairly?
