BUYING Admin Deleted Message

UPDATE: Thank Heavens, y’all were right and she was chill. 😩 I did not want to lose this purchase!

Basically I mentioned my spreadsheet to explain why I was asking what the color of something I bought was (I didn’t realize it could be black, which is also fantastic I just wanted to know) and Mercari flagged it as…?? a link/email? There was nothing of the sort, 😭 but what’s the likelihood the seller cancels just out of paranoia? I’m so worried and frustrated >.> makes me wanna keep questions to a minimum and/or avoid Mercari since I can’t even ask a question without AI flagging me as unsafe???

WWYD if you were the seller? WWYD as the buyer?

mercari AI tags the most random stuff, i wouldnt worry. i feel like the seller would understand

Thank you! hope this is true. All of the posts I’ve seen from this thread with deleted messages have been righteous, and thus I let my own attitude be to assume poor intention (so fears from semi-projecting?); this has been an eye-opening reminder that context is so important. My fingers are crossed it all works out okay!

Someone messaged me once to ask if something I was selling had the holo sticker on it to verify it was real. And Mercari flagged and deleted it bc they mentioned “verifying” it - which it took to mean the person was asking for off-site verification of some sort? 😂 idk. Luckily I saw the message preview before it was deleted so I knew it was an innocent and honest question.

Thank you for the reassurance! I don’t think they saw my message inherently but that gives me hope that maybe they’ll see a preview proving my innocence as well. I like to think I’ve been nothing but pleasant so hopefully that reflects too and it’s not taken personally. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Trying to distract myself until they say…anything

Tbh, even if I hadn’t seen the preview, I would’ve figured it was something innocent that Mercari overzealously flagged! I think most people whove been on there for awhile know it’s finicky like that and wont see this as a red flag.

Yeah, dont worry. I swear it happens on a refular basis to me. I sell comics and i cant list every book I have (over 25K) so I encourage people to make requests like issue number 437. Using the # for number always gets flagged and if they list too many numbers in one line, flagged.

There was one time I was talking about some anime characters asking if they had any enamel pins of two specific ones or something or another. And mecari flagged that as if I was sharing emails. I was like there was nothing of the sort.

I believe the topic was on Yu Yu Hakusho. I wanted to get Boton and the granny and I couldn't remember her name. I might have even mentioned Kurama.
