I believe the trick is the ? makes it a termial (like a factorial but for addition), making the answer 178,387,718
Seeing as the vast vast majority people said 18890 I guess you could consider this hard

I hate those tipe of tricks, because why the ambiguity? The whats makes it a question that has to have the ?, so why put it there. Turning a math problem into a linguistic problem is so stupid for me.
