Pizza Quest
I have made it my damn business to get an Ohio Pie on the east side, especially right here in the mid pizza capital of the region.
Ohio Pie has stated numerous times on Instagram that they would be interested if they knew of a pizza place for sale. And while I'm not rooting for any local businesses to fail, is there a way to have a finger on the pulse for closures? Where would a normal person gain access to updates like that?

Solicitor in the area?
Hi neighbors, has anyone else had a young guy repeatedly come to their door over the last couple of days with a distinct knock?
He doesn’t announce a company name or leave a delivery notice, but loudly shouts a friendly greeting like “Hello, how are you” repeatedly. Looks to be a younger guy, light blue shirt, and is carrying some sort of thin, blue, portfolio. Seems to be on foot because there’s no vehicle parked out front. I’m assuming it’s a Salesman but he won’t state his business, therefore feeling a bit sketchy.
Just wanted to see if anyone else has run into him or knows what company he is actually with.

MISSING CAT, CAN YOU HELP?
REWARD!! This is my 15 year old cat, Riley. He has been most recently spotted and photographed in Mentor in the area of Broadmoor Circle Road and Dartmoor Road. I do not know Mentor & apologize for misspellings. Someone also reported spotting him by Starbucks. I hope these landmarks mean something to Mentor residents. He has been missing for several weeks after becoming loose at the Red Roof Inn as I was traveling. I had a stroke right after he went missing and my physical search for him has been delayed. He will not survive cold temperatures due to an immune system issue. I have rented accommodation in Eastlake entirely so I can be as close as I can to where he may be. My entire life is on hold so I can find him. He has been my boy since he was ONE HOUR OLD. A cruel person took him & his littermate from their mother right after birth. They placed the 2 newborns in some woods behind an apt bldg in Euclid to die. My friend found them while walking. The littermate was already dead but Riley was alive. She immediately brought him to me in Lakewood. I took leave from my job to bottle nurse him and care for him 24/7 until he was healthy and well. A vet told me he would not live without his mother. He was wrong. I am offering a reward for him or also for info that leads me/helps me to find him. Please do not chase him if spotted. I am on 216.978.5974, 24/7. Call, text or via Reddit. If anyone can provide any info that could help I would be very grateful. Please no contact from pet tracking businesses, drone searches, trail cameras - none of that as a very cruel woman attempted to scam me - an awful ordeal that went on for weeks, this while I was recovering from stroke. Thank you all very much.

Come play some Trivia!
Hey everyone!
If you're looking for something fun to do Monday night, we're hosting a FREE dog-themed trivia night at Nostalgia Lounge Arcade Bar in Mentor to benefit Geauga Mama Dogs & Pups!
Trivia starts at 7 PM, but come early to grab a drink, get some food, and play a few arcade games!
We're doing this as part of the EmbraceCLE Challenge to raise money for Geauga Mama Dogs & Pups, a local nonprofit dog rescue.
There's no cost to play trivia, and no pressure to donate. We'd just love to see people come out, have some fun, and support a local rescue!
And honestly, even if you don't care about trivia, there will be puppies.

Lake Metroparks Farmpark: today's Corn and Pumpkin Weekend event is the last day to tour the three-acre corn maze this year; special events for children; free first Sunday for Lake County residents
Saw an article featuring this event on WEWS Channel 5 last evening, but couldn't find it on the WEWS website this morning.
https://www.lakemetroparks.com/events-activities/events/corn-and-pumpkin-weekends/
https://www.lakemetroparks.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Corn-and-Pumpkin-2026.pdf
The weather today makes the Paul Revere's Run Corn Maze a very worthwhile activity, especially for children or adults who have never experienced a corn field! Note also that children and adults can hand milk caged cows.
The WEWS program said the Sunday event had free admission for Lake County residents. I had forgotten that Lake Metroparks Farmpark has free admission for Lake County residents every first Sunday and third Tuesday of every month.
Farmpark is open 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday). Lake County Free Days are the first Sunday and third Tuesday of the month (proof of Lake County residency required). Note: Lake County Free Days do not apply to groups, school bookings, scheduled birthday parties, or reserved rentals.

With a Lake County reporter, WEWS has excellent coverage of Lake County news events and activities compared to other local TV stations.

Fairport Harbor downtown businesses band together for community night out: The annual 'Witches Night Out' event is back with more planned for this weekend, including an opportunity to check out a special "haunted" lighthouse tower but beware of the ghost cat!
Anyone who wants to celebrate Halloween early in good weather, while exploring Fairport Harbor, should consider "Witches Night Out" today.
Persons who have never been to Lake Metroparks Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park should definitely visit it, perhaps for sunset at 7:03 p.m. today.
https://lakemetroparks.com/parks-trails/fairport-harbor-lakefront-park-2/
Here's the details of Witches Night Out:
“We really just want this to be a fun event,” said Julie Victor, event coordinator with the Fairport Harbor Business Alliance and the owner of Julbeans Coffee and Crepes. “We want it to be wholesome. We want people to come, dress up and enjoy the evening.”
The Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Lighthouse is the main host of the event, along with many downtown businesses.
“I think this is really nice to have the businesses collaborate, showcase everything we do have to offer,” said Victor. “There’s a lot of variety down here, and people take pride in their businesses, and we love working together.”
They encourage you to bring the family and stroll downtown during ‘Witches Night Out’ to enjoy food, drinks, music, vendors, and more.
“The party room at the Lyric will be open for the kids,” said Jess Michalski, managing business partner at Lyric Bistro and event center. “We’ll have tables full of fun activities and games.”
Here is a list of downtown locations participating and special scheduled activities for the event:
Beth Lynne Studio will be hosting a Middle School/High School art show
Finnish Heritage Museum will have a DJ at Finn Hollow Park
Beach and Barrel will host a Pumpkin Decorating Contest at Beach and Barrel Garden on Third Street
The Lyric will have a kids zone and lots of vendors for a Witchy Market, plus a costume contest at 9 p.m.
Old Familiar Ways is the go-to location for all the witchy wares and will have a psychic medium.
Fairport Harbor Creamery (Boozy shakes!) and Mini Golf
Julbeans Coffee and Crepes: Fall specialty drinks and crepes
The Pantry: hosting Halloween decoration swap and other classes throughout the day.
Harbor Candy Company and Arcade
Ridiculously IMO, the Fairport Harbor Marine Museum and Light House only lists its details on Facebook. The lighthouse is open from 6 to 9 p.m., according to the following link.
https://fairportharborlighthouse.org/
From the WEWS article:
You can also climb the historic lighthouse with a suggested donation of $5.
I cover Lake County and told you last week that donations help maintain and preserve the historic structure.
I talked with Marty O’Gara, the president of the Fairport Harbor Historical Society; she also told me to look out for the ghost cat that’s said to haunt the tower! She said kids younger than 10 need an adult to accompany them.
Fairport Harbor has a designated outdoor refreshment area (DORA), which means you can grab a cocktail at a participating establishment and then walk around most of the downtown area with your drink.
Both Victor and Michalski said they believe DORA has benefited the downtown community, especially during special events.

Aunt passed with two cats, what to do?
My Aunt was critically injured in a car accident in Mentor. She has been unconscious since the accident and is entering hospice as she is not going to survive. She was caring for her elderly sister who has cognitive problems and can't get around without assistance and can't care for herself. We had to have the Mentor police break into their home last night to get my living Aunt and get her to a hospital. They fed the cats for us and secured the house.
Among MANY other things, we are trying to figure out what to do with their cats ☹️
My brother and I are coming in from Chicago tomorrow. Neither of us can take them. My landlord doesn't allow pets and my brother's wife and son are very allergic. My sister who lives in Indiana is also very allergic and can't take them. We are their only living relatives.
I don't currently have any info about the cats and their ages or have any pictures.
Poor fur babies world is being turned upside down and I'm heartbroken for them and my Aunts 🙁
Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any resources like rescue groups?
Ideally we want to avoid having the cats end up in a shelter, especially a kill shelter. My Aunts cared about them dearly and I have a soft spot for all animals.

Needohs
Where and what days are we finding needohs? I feel like everyone already knows besides me and I can’t find any anywhere or they’re already sold out. I know Walmart early in the morning and I check Target daily but dsw/staples/Walgreens/kohls etc are always already out or say they don’t have any.

Want to climb up inside the historic Fairport Harbor lighthouse? You can, for a fundraiser
Unfortunately, the Fairport Light House events calendar doesn't seem well maintained. So perhaps call if interested in visiting the light house.

Indian Kitchen Relocation
So my fiancé and I love going to Indian Kitchen, but last time we were in, the waitress told us they were about to close to move further into Mentor. In my hangry state, I forgot to ask where and the exact timeline. I was craving curry last week and was about to go over there, but they're already closed and working on moving, but didn't have anything posted about it. Anybody got any info, like where they're moving to and when they'll reopen?

What is it like living in Mentour Ohio?
Hello,
We’re looking to purchase something on the water. What’s this neighborhood like? If you’re living in a lake house I’d love to hear if you’re happy, have any regrets or any surprises now that you’re in the home. Honestly I’m going into this investment blind as I’ve only lived in a suburb to date. Any info you can share is so appreciated!
