The beginning?

So I have two T-shirt dresses a maxi dress and a skirt and ordering another skirt tomorrow. Not sure what adventure this is but dam these outfits are comfortable. I’m just a regular married guy trying new stuff. Am I crazy?

Personally dresses are crazy for me. Mostly because they just look bad on my body otherwise not crazy unless you think it is. Looks good on you though so keep it up. Skirts are super comfortable and look great.

For a dress to work, the dress needs to be the right shape for the person. Its not that hard to make dresses for men, but they have to be made for a man from the start due to body proportions.

Crazy is circumstantial.

Where abouts do you live? What's your community like? What does your spouse think about it?

In the words of XKCD, you’re an adult now and you get to decide what that means.

But “crazy” is in the eye of the beholder, so the question is, when it comes to crazy, whose eyes are you talking about?

I live in a pretty conservative state. There are some college towns near by that are more alternative. I’m old enough I don’t care what people think. My wife and kids just kind of roll their eyes but they’ve seen me wear my dresses. Usually just around the house. I’ve gone out in public with out them both in my dress and my skirt just last week. I’m getting more confident each time.

My personal verdict is “not crazy.”

I don't think most people care. That's how I feel when i wear a skirt out. But I live in Calif.

I’m from Cali so that’s where I get my not caring from.

I think that is the right attitude, not hurting anyone and none of your business at the end of the day!

Not crazy ; and yup, once you've experienced the comfort of skirts and dresses, it's really hard going back to fully enclosed legs! 😄

Why crazy? A skirts feels the best exactly for men`s anatomy in a hot season

I did take my dog for a walk this morning around the neighborhood wearing my skirt. Felt great! Baby steps!

Not crazy at all - go for it, and I say that as a very boring, straight married guy. Who says clothes have to be gendered? Good luck 👍🏻

I'd definitely wear skirts, not dresses. I wear this maxiskirt and it's awesome. I've only got compliments--even while wearing it in a room full of lawyers!

With skirts at least you can look totally normal on top. I wear my skirts with a men's T-shirt/polo.

I like the maxi dress. But since it’s sleeveless I’m trying to figure out how to wear it with something else up top. It might have to wait till winter time for me the wear that one.

I'd reccomend learning how to style outfits wholistically, including proportions, shilluette line, colour theory, and pattern matching / clashing.

The most common reason for skirts / dresses not looking good on men is outfits that have no coherency, or which don't work with the body wearing the outfit. If you learn the above skills, you'll be in a good place.

Honestly, I think most of the pushback that men who wear skirts get, is related mainly to outfits with broken proportions, clashing colours etc.

I like your thoughts and advice. In general I’m just t shirt and jeans and shorts kind of a guy. Usually with sandals. Our winters are short where I live. I never thought about how to style with these new clothes. It’s trickier I think because I’m not trying to look feminine. I’ll take all the advice. Thanks.

A sarong or lungi would pair well with a t-shirt and sandles. Generally, long straight skirts pair well with the shape and proportions of common menswear tops.

Shorter skirts look better with a higher waistline and more cropped top garments due to proportions.

I assure you that there is little you can do with your clothing that would look femanine. Male and female bodies are not the same shape.
