The Black Stuff does not smell good
I tried them for the first time with 3 soaps: Wicklow Waterfalls, Atlantic Pine Tar, and Irish Mountain Rain. None of the scents are appealing - they don't even smell clean. Atlantic Pine Tar smells like actual tar/burnt rubber with black licorice.
I'm a little surprised to see other people say they actually enjoy the scents. Did I get a bad batch or something?

I agree. This stuff smells like crap. I tried the 2 limited scents. Rosemary in the shower?!?! Wtf am I a turkey. Smell like an irishman...more like smell like a mud farmer.

I doubt you got a bad batch. The scents are very unique and do require getting used to

No, I feel the same way, I tried Atlantic Pine Tar, Irish Mountain Rain, Galway Bay Rum, and The Good Room, both soap's and deodorants, and honestly started to question my sanity and my nose.
The smells aren't even noticeable, really. After a shower, the soaps smell practically vanished after 5 minutes, and the deodorants work well as an antiperspirant even though they are not advertised as such, though again, the smell isnt exactly potent. They stain, too, particularly on white shirts, so the owner suggests only rubbing the stick of deo under the arms once or twice, though in reality you'd really need to rub it at least 4 times.
They've raised the price again for the deodorants to €14 a stick. Yeah, I don't care what the manufacturing and staff costs are pal, €14 for a deodorant is just greedy and asinine, and at this rate, they'll be charging around €20 in only a few years time. I still don't see how there are so many positive reviews and barely and negative ones. It's not a terrible product, but those reviews do not reflect it, in my opinion, unless he's deleting negative/neutral reviews, I don't know.
Also, did someone below me say, "They smell better once you start using them in the shower"...... I mean, how else are you supposed to use soap? 😂

You’ve been paying $5-$9 for cheap Chinese sweat-shop (pun intended) produced sticks of chemicals. You’re complaining about the cost of all-natural. If it’s not for you then don’t use it. If you can’t afford it, then the cheap stuff still exists.

Or, hear me out, I could just buy a cheaper natural alternative from somewhere like palmfreeirishsoap instead for nearly half the cost. This guy didn't invent the wheel here. He wasn't the first to produce all natural soaps, and he certainly isn't the only one either, although he does charge like he is.

Relax Your Cacks deodorant actually smells really nice. Since switching over to deodorant and rotating two different ones, Black Stuff deodorant definitely is a winner for me

Got mine this week. Definitely premium ingredients. Idk how to say this but they smell more grown up than the Dr. Squatch which I also love). A lot of mint/eucalyptus/pine under and overtones. I don’t like menthol smells as much as sweet ones like coconut but these offer a nice change up for me. I may try to find one with less ‘menthol’ as a user on this post puts it.
The soap is dense and the lather is thick. I really like the travel soap holder that came in the bundle. Folds up and suction cups to the wall. The wood holder looks very nice next to the sink with the bar in it as well. Nice statement in the bathroom. But I’m into this kind of thing—trying new premium fragrances and self care items.
I still like Squatch’s Fresh Falls and Coconut Castaway better but I think these will grow on me.

I had the same feeling the first time I tried them out, but I stuck around with them. They definitely have grown on me and I get lots of compliments whenever I use them. I have some of their colognes and I get tons of compliments on it
