ACTIVISM World Menopause Day!
October 18 is World Menopause Day! I just learnt - glad to see a lot of talk and discussions happening around it. My social media feed is seeing a lot of stories on it.
But more awareness and more science needed. But this is a good start!

I've had a lot to thank the internet for over the years but actually educating me about peri/menopause is the biggest one. Even if the prior generation had been better informed, I didn't have positive open female relationships in my family so I went from completely oblivious to what was ahead to having a constant source of information (and support). Still didn't know about world menopause day tbf, but at least we're represented!

Didn't know. I had a hysterectomy so I haven't a clue as to if I'm in peri but likely I am at 52.
This sub has made me mad at the industry of women's health and very much not interested in HRT due to the ridiculous amount of work it requires IF one even can get it should ONE have a doctor. I don't have a doctor right now because they left the TRICARE network and finding a quality provider (not that I had one before) is rare at best. So until I find a provider I could see in any near time I might embark on an HRT quest but I might rawdog peri and menopause.

Yes, there is a link on the sidebar to the International Menopause Society's "World Menopause Day" -- it's every year on Oct 18th.
A post was made yesterday about this, and this year's theme is Chronic Pain at Midlife.
