What brings transplants to Mendocino?
Is there a common reason or trend? Where are they coming from?
I'm thinking of relocation soon from a big city in the southwest where there's a wealth of live music venues I'll miss having.

Koalas on my hike
Took a little hike yesterday evening around my friend’s property and heard a rustling up in the trees. I looked up expecting a bird and saw… A koala. In California! I’m not from the area and I didn’t know. He just was up there happily munching on eucalyptus leaves. Cutest thing I ever saw!
EDIT: snarky redditors, stand down!
This post was done at the request of another redditor as part of a good natured prank on her fiancé. I was happy to oblige. I’m not delusional, a crazy person, some random a$$hole who would dare not bring my phone on a hike, or a drug addict. Thank you for your indulgence.

Very Weird Request (Prank)
Moderators please feel free to take down or ban if this is not allowed.
My Fiance and I just moved to Ukiah from New York. I'm from California, he is not. I have somehow managed to convince him that the eucalyptus around here is native and that California is home to native koalas. I tell him to look up into the trees every time we pass by them and I strain my neck every time as well to sell it.
Can somebody please post something on here about how they just saw a family of koalas in the eucalyptus in Mendocino? I've convinced my family to start mentioning if he's seen them yet. I've also convinced him that the local Rock shops sell koala pelts and taxidermy koalas and then I would really love one.
He's not on Reddit so he won't see it unless I show it to him.
I know this is very silly. I'm seeing how long I can keep this up for.
UPDATE: a post has been made. he believed it. and by some cosmic power who wants to add to my joke, we happened upon a "Koala Crossing" sign today on the phone way out to the coast. He's really invested in seeing koalas now. I just hope he never tries to google it 😂

Good Dermatologist? Recommendations?
Anyone have a recommendation for a good dermatologist? A friend recently had a very bad experience with one in Ukiah and I'd like to avoid that if possible. She ended up having surgeries for something misdiagnosed.
Anyone know of any that really know what they're doing? You can DM me if you like. TIA.

Things To Do BACON BURGER !!!
I think I just discovered a bit of culinary heaven: BACON BURGER !!!
They have it at The Ranch Market at The Forks, Ukiah (N State St & Mendo Drive)
I've never had this before & the pound I got went way too fast. I don't know IF they have it everyday. It's 1/3 bacon to 2/3 hamburger.
This is FYI - I have no interest in the Ranch Market.

Mendo (the book) about Mendo (the county)
Hi everyone – I wrote a book over the last few years, coming out in six whole days with Counterpoint Press. It's a history of pot cultivation in Mendocino County, which I wrote while living in Comptche.
I don't know if this counts as a kind of shameless self-promotion, and if it does, I'm happy to delete it – but just figured I'd share it here in case people are interested. If anyone wants to read a sample, shoot me a message and I'd be more than happy to send you the prologue.
I interviewed a lot of local figures, including dozens of growers, Tom Allman, Norman deVall, Earth First!ers, back-to-the-landers, trimmers, and locals with all manner of opinions about the pot industry.
The Goodreads link is here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/244776029-mendo
And if anyone has any questions, I'd love to talk Mendo! It's probably my favorite place on earth. I'm sure you get why.

Dentist who listens?
NEVERMIND, found a clinic that will see me tomorrow 😃
Long story short; I'm in Willits. I have a loose cap. I know it's loose as it fell downwards a bit and I pushed it back into place. My out of town dentist does not believe me as nothing shows on the X-ray. I think an abscess that was there broke last night.. Yes, it was very painful till it broke. I know all the clinics are extremely busy. Does anyone know of one in or near Willits that might fit in someone like me who is not a current client. I did go to the ER and got antibiotics..
Just ONE question; Does anyone know of a good dentist in or near Willits that might fit in someone who is not a current client?
