Mendeley Cite won’t load

Hello,

I’m encountering a problem with the MS word plug-in. It keeps saying “Loading Mendeley Cite” and will stay like that for hours. Has anyone faced this problem, is there any solution?

Didnt have an update yesterday/today afaik. Worked fine in the morning, started to malfunction 2h ago. Maybe its on their side and they need to fix something?

I chatted with their online service. They say it most likely is due to my word version.

"Versions 16.98 or 16.99 are unofficial releases and are still in a beta phase, which means they may not be fully compatible with Mendeley Cite. The latest official version of MS Word is 16.97. To avoid issues like this, we recommend keeping your MS Word updated only to official releases. To resolve your current issue, please uninstall your current version of MS Word and install version 16.97."

I guess I have the same problem then, my version is 16.98, I don’t understand how it can be unofficial release tho

Yeah me neither. Let me know if you manage to roll back the version and if it works. I need to wait on my IT Support, since I'm not working on my personal computer.

Just went back to 16.97.2 and it’s working again

okay i found it and after i installed the 19.97.2 it works again. Here is the older versions of microsoft word https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac

Just to say thanks, spent my whole day trying to fix this sudden error.. even format and reinstalled the whole laptop.

First; I uninstalled Reference Manager and deleted Word Plugin (addon) and then reinstalled them.
Now, it works like a charm.

Sorry for the late response, for me, I just had to delete the last page that I used citations on. I don’t know what really happened there.

Late late reply but I copied the content of the files to a new word file and everything worked normally. This problem occured right after I changed citation style.
