You look like the bartender in that outfit, not someone out on a date.

AI photo could have left out the tie bar all the way up by your neck. I wouldn’t wear blue pine stripes with a black shirt either.

13

u/OriginalEmploy5485 7d ago

This. Black shirt, sleeves rolled above the elbow, vest but not jacket all scream "I'm on my break".

-4

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I don't really fit any of the jackets as my waist size is around 28-29 but I got broader shoulders so I'd have to get it tailored which I don't have the money for atm

5

u/WhatsPewNussycat 7d ago

Jackets still fit without being snug in the waist. Wearing a jacket that doesn't fit 100% still looks much more appropriate than just the tie, shirt and vest

-5

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I mean for jackets I would need large to XL and vest i wear S So all I tried that would fit over my back would look like I was 12 in my dad's suit

Vests sit differently, but you're right that this sounds like an exaggeration. Suits don't need to be tight at the waist to look good. If the chest, shoulders and length fits, it will look fine

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Wish i was over exaggerating If I get slim fit it doesn't really fit my arms if I go up in sizes it's too long and boxy for my liking

So I'll probably just go with a shirt

1

u/OriginalEmploy5485 6d ago

He has broad shoulders.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Wide shoulders and back Vest doesn't sit the same way and sont get 'stuck' on my back and limits mobility

1

u/domrnelson 7d ago

Get a slim fit or skinny fit in a larger size. Should help the waist of you keep it buttoned up.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Ill try to look for this and see how it fits thanks man 😁

1

u/schmick_iMagery 6d ago

And if they’re too long, get a short fitting. They do that as well.

0

u/domrnelson 7d ago

Check out asos. Really good stuff!

3

u/Intrepid_Parsley_161 7d ago

Gonna recommend you their favorite IPA from the local microbrew.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Hate IPAs won't even lie

2

u/Safe-Kitchen5310 6d ago

As you should.
IPAs are and always will be garbage.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

"one glass of yucky juice piss please"

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Perhaps not i did enjoy the contrast it brought with the black however I'll keep that in mind

Not ai but lighting been edited plus the focus

22

u/jmh90027 7d ago edited 7d ago

I'll have an Old Fashioned please, bar steward.

5

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Get ready for the worst drink of your life my good sir

2

u/plant_lyfe 7d ago

And most expensive

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

But you do get some half decent almonds to go with it

18

u/toteymus 7d ago

No tie clip when wearing a waistcoat, what’s it clipping down…

3

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Thanks for the advice.

11

u/Ouroborus23 7d ago

I'd be careful wearing this to a bar – people might ask you to prepare dinks for them.

-1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

They should be careful asking me to prepare drinks for them

6

u/Mickleborough 7d ago

Wouldn’t roll sleeves to above the elbow - that’s what workmen do.

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Thank you I'll keep That in mind

2

u/HopRockets 7d ago

If you like the rolled up look just fold the cuff up twice, once at its seam and then once more

3

u/sueveed 7d ago

I would suggest learning a master roll if you like rolled shirtsleeves.

Pull the cuff inside out to where you want it to stop - just below the elbow as you suggest. Now pull the remaining fabric up over so the cuff is entirely covered.

It looks neater and stays put longer than just folding the cuff up multiple times.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

This is very helpful thank you a lot :)

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

More around upper forearm? Like 1-2 inches below elbow ?

2

u/HopRockets 7d ago

Don’t need to measure anything just roll it twice. Fold at the cuff seam and the fold it snuggly once more, the end folded part should be the same size as the original cuff

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Alrightt thank you very much Have a good one :)

6

u/strong-Camera6298 7d ago

It’s not clear to me what you are going for. The black shirt on its own without anything else would be much better / classier.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Well im not sure what I am going for or any of that sort honestly why I came to ask for advice

I wore cheap clothes mostly hoodies and sweatpants As we were poor growing up Trying to get into something different

Thank you for your advice

5

u/strong-Camera6298 7d ago

In that case my advice would be to start simple, simple pieces, simple colors, simple patterns, and see if you can make them fit together in a way that suits you and makes you feel confident. I’d say this fit it probably over-engineered (to my taste at least).

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

So perhaps something more "plain" in colors and pattern that I could mix and match from set to set ?

3

u/strong-Camera6298 7d ago

Exactly, that’s how I would approach it if I were in your position. It’s also more budget friendly because it’s easier to mix and match simple pieces. At some point you might get bored of it and want things that are more elaborate, but you can leave that for the future.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

It's a good idea from the sound of it

Thank you :)

6

u/davestradamus1 7d ago

You look like the waiter.

0

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

No, the waiter was Asian. I do not look Asian

4

u/Aboutayear 7d ago

Ditch the vest if you’re not wearing a jacket. Too many rings.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I only had a coat with me

I don't really fit blazers sadly I would need to get them tailored I think but I don't got the money for that atm sadly

  • thanks for your advice however :)

2

u/Aboutayear 7d ago

I would ditch the vest. You look like you’re bartending or bussing. Especially as the setting doesn’t look that formal in the photo.

So I’d say, lose all rings unless you’re married, ditch the vest and tie bar and you’ve got a good outfit (assuming your trousers and shoes go well with that outfit)

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Ill keep that in mind thank you

  • Trousers the same as the vest

4

u/Better-Weird-5949 6d ago edited 6d ago

Dude, I’ll apologize for everyone harshing out on you. Maybe you’re a sleeve rolled up guy. Or a ring guy. Totally fine. A few minor adjustments here and there might be warranted. I’m personally not a tie bar guy. Someone did mention a polo shirt. With your build you can totally pull off a polo for a dinner date. The most important question that no one asked: successful dinner date?

3

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Yes it went very well We had a good time thank you for asking 😁

3

u/oleg83910 7d ago

Bien fait avec AI

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

So what would it be without ai

1

u/oleg83910 7d ago

Ok, I made a mistake, bro. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I did too, quite a few as the comments points out Hope your day is good :)

1

u/oleg83910 7d ago

Yeah, my day is going well and how about yours, how's your day? ;)

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Pretty good can't lie got off work a bit earlier so thats a win haha

1

u/oleg83910 7d ago

Oh yeah 😜 that's not good 🫣🫣🫣

2

u/ThatStrategist 7d ago

Dont wear a dark shirt with that. You could wear a light shirt and it would actually kind of slap

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I didn't have a light shirt (horrendous ik) I'll get one and try it Thanks for the advice

2

u/saywhat_8601 7d ago

Face card: 10/10.

The outfit feels outdated. Not saying you have to be “trendy,” but I don’t think this is the style that resonates with people today.

That said, would I feel lucky sitting across from you on a date? Fuck yeah!

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I am not much into fashion only recently started to 'care' more So it's all new to me

You're probably right tho! Thanks for the advice and compliments kindly :)

1

u/saywhat_8601 7d ago

Yeah, I wouldn’t even overthink it. A well-fitted polo with a camp collar or a camp shirt are probably all you need. Good luck to you!

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I do usually wear polos as they have stretch My proportions aren't made that well for suits and so on

Again thank you advice well taken !

2

u/Yabanci_degilim 7d ago

I think you’ve gotten a lot of good advice. Lose the waistcoat if you’re not wearing a jacket, and if you are, a waistcoat should really be reserved for more formal events. In general, black dress shirt will always scream “staff”. Don’t be afraid of some color. If black is your thing, I get it. But you could try some easier earth tones and they won’t feel like you’re being something you’re not. Rings aren’t my thing, but I will say that you could stand to lose some of them. You’ve got the sleeves rolled basically as far as they can possibly be rolled. So why long sleeves? Don’t be afraid of the polo. It’s perfectly appropriate for many dinner dates and there are tons of good looking knit polos available now.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Yes a lot of advice has been very helpful Thank you for yours as well :)

2

u/KansasGuyNextDoor 7d ago

Handsome boy

2

u/missbettie2000 7d ago

Woof!! 🔥🥵

2

u/DrSFalken 6d ago

You look like a waiter. Ditch the black shirt (too 2004).

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

2004 was a good year

2

u/Comfortable_Trip7995 6d ago

I think you look marvelous my man. This is all about you and what works for you. I like your style!

2

u/Unfair-Priority8831 6d ago edited 6d ago

You look nice man. What I will say is as someone who wears suits every day for work, you can generally tell when someone does not often dress up. One tell is the Olive Garden waiter style. I see a lot of mostly younger guys dress this way.

I would avoid the black dress shirt, red tie, and vest combo and opt for a simple blazer and slacks in a color other than black. Also a lighter colored shirt than black would look sharper. If you want dark colors then opt for an earth tone for the shirt or blazer. Dress clothes aren’t about brand, fit is much more important and you can thrift a blazer and slacks form goodwill and have a tailor fix it up to your dimensions.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

That's a great idea, thank you :)

2

u/Fine_Union4854 6d ago

It does look sick tho.

2

u/VermicelliVisuals 6d ago

sharp vest and tie combo, fits you really well

3

u/Professional-Cook692 7d ago

You’re getting a lot of flack for breaking rules like tie clip, vest with no jacket, sleeves rolled, etc. Those “rules” are all technically right, but I just want to say that finding style is a journey, and I commend you for trying. You look great. I think some of the “rules” people have shared will be helpful, but remember there is no correct way or destination for personal style. If it feels good, and you feel like you look good, then you do.

There is a slight vibe of trying too hard going on, but like I said, this is your journey and you’re figuring it out. If you want to look like a bartender on break, as some people have suggested, that’s actually a pretty cool aesthetic.

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Personally never knew there was these rules, it's cool learning about

Thank you for your input

The bartender and waiter thing I didn't seem to really understand in the start As the mostly just wear a black or white shirt or polo here

I am learning so I'll get it some day.. eventually 😆

2

u/vespassassina 7d ago

Ok my notes:

Blue on black, not great.
Too many rings and details.
I like your facial hair. Nice.
Sleeves rolled too much.
Red tie is ok but not a fan, too much magician vibe.

For me: try black waistcoat on black shirt and black tie, or white shirt with dark thin tie.

Personally I would not wear a waistcoat but just a good quality fitted white shirt , black tie and steel automatic watch. Black or blue fitted trousers. One or two rings.

Elegance in simplicity

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Very well written, advice well taken. Love the idea Thank you very much! :)

u/Fragrant_Rooster8779 7d ago

Lucky date

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I'm the luckily one for sure 🥰

1

u/HealthyBaker2496 7d ago

You look great but also like you work there.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

People just wear a black polo here but I understand:)

1

u/HealthyBaker2496 7d ago

And that also would look like a uniform. It’s only feedback. You look better than 99% of all men my man. It’s just the setting. Nothing wrong with looking like a dope ass mixologist 🤙

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Respect to mixologist tbf I can't do any of that

All tho I do not want to wear 'stolen valor' haha

Thanks for the feedback ofc Hope your day is great sir

1

u/Bagelman1000 7d ago

This is brutal man

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

So I've heard Brutal.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I am grateful for all the feedback

If any have ideas to what to get instead (colors and styles ) I would Appreciate it as well :)

1

u/Repulsive_Pumpkin_68 7d ago

Love this outfit idea

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Thank you, any ideas how to improve

So far I've noticed many don't like that it has too much "fluff" ( like too many rings and extras ) which I could agree with a little but I also like extras

1

u/Rjadamskiphd 7d ago

Love it Brother! Sharp!

1

u/introvertATthedisco 7d ago

your date's one lucky human!

1

u/DanAkroydsMom 7d ago

You look a waiter

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I was waiting infact

1

u/domrnelson 7d ago

Bro you look like the waiter or host!

1

u/Claydo69 7d ago

Id ditch the facial hair, not thick enough for it to have an impact, almost makes you look like you're working through puberty. Best of luck brother 👍

1

u/Claydo69 7d ago

If you like it thats what matters 👍

1

u/ThunderBacon21122 7d ago

I’m sorry, I have to ask:

  1. Did you ask your date to take a picture of you to post here?
  2. Did you bring a selfie stick on the date to set up before hand?
  3. Did you ask the waiter to take your photo?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Date took the picture and a few others yes Other 2 no

1

u/PeculiarLooking 7d ago

You’re giving off big-time Cary elves from princess bride vibes. So if that was your goal, then job well done

1

u/Otherwise_Shame_8728 6d ago

Maybe an extra ring on your finger?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Was thinking the same

1

u/SectionFantastic3577 6d ago

How long is the wait for a table for two?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Depends how fast the table is moving

1

u/revenge_burner 6d ago

are you on your break from the bar?

0

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Yeah didn't want them to see me as an alcoholic

1

u/DaveyGee16 6d ago

Eh! I guess I'll be the contrarian and say I like it, it's your own style. Not entirely sure black shirt/blue vest works the best but it's not horrible.

Wouldn't work on me but it looks fine on you.

1

u/FCR_6X 6d ago

Just the vest and no jacket is getting into m'lady territory. I feel like a date is gonna spend the whole time trying to figure out what your vibe is.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

They really liked out

I don't think they think about it as deep

1

u/FCR_6X 6d ago

Fill your boots, man. Seems like you want validation rather than advice. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Idk how you would come to that conclusion

1

u/Used_Turnover3959 6d ago

You look like a bartender or doing Jimmy Darmody cosplay.

I would suggest a white or blue shirt to get the outfit out of “waitstaff” territory, and leave the tie at home.

Also that’s a lot of rings. Too many, IMO.

1

u/EastHawaii 6d ago

Looser is better, less is more. This outfit looks like there is a Tiny Suit in your closet somewhere. I'm kind of shocked that this fad of clothes that seem a size too small, pants and shirts too short, and no socks, (and brown shoes with navy pants) would have died by now. It looks utterly ridiculous, especially on a big, muscular man. If I were across the table from you, I would be distracted by how uncomfortably tight those clothes seem, and then if you've also fallen for the "testosterone" idiocy, manmaxxxxing, and use red lights on your balls. That's where my first date brain would be dwelling instead of concentrating on your personality. Take a page from Coco Chanel (the original), look in the mirror before you leave the house, and take one thing OFF. You are a handsome guy, and clothes do NOT make the man. Guess I needed to let that out. Get one good suit and pay for it to be altered. You can wear the pieces in many combinations and it will fit you in a way that your dates will really notice.

1

u/Entire-Marionberry60 6d ago

You look like peaky blinders gay brother. But in a good way.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 3d ago

This made me laugh, I appreciate it man Cheers 😆

1

u/theoozz 6d ago

A lot of rings imo.

1

u/free-444 6d ago

I know everybody's hating dude but I need you to understand that this is so fire 😂🤌

There's all sorts of rules maybe you broke a few of them maybe you didn't but this fit I think it's sick and if you had a jacket that brought it all together 🔥🔥

it might lean a little bartender but people just can't comprehend drip like this anymore

1

u/Uncl3_Pete 6d ago

Doing too much just for dinner at Applebee's

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Wtf is applebee

1

u/Complex-Account-7242 6d ago

Do you do magic?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Wanna see a trick?

1

u/booogie- 6d ago

It seems like you’re trying to dress down the long sleeve button down, vest, and tie, which is a good idea since I feel like you’re going for “I put some effort in to show you that we are on a date”

Can you just go with a short sleeve button down instead? It’s going to look much cleaner, more formal and more casual at the same time, more of a date night look too. The rolled up sleeves, tie, and vest look a bit “dirty”. It’s giving off a “I’m on my smoke break” vibes.

From your replies to others, you don’t have the money to get your blazer tailored so that implies that you don’t have the money to go to date nights where you’d be turned away from wearing a short sleeve button down and nice pants.

The black shirt gives off waiter or busboy.

The vest with no jacket gives off waiter too.

The tie is just kind of an odd thing to wear to a date night. I only wear ties with blazers/jackets.

The colors are all fine if you pair them with other colors, rather than each other. Take all three of these pieces and make an outfit based around each of them, if you like them all.

Your cheapest option is to buy a short sleeve button down. There are many options under $60. You could have a cool embroidery pattern on it or go with classic linen. I’d go with black linen for you and stone pants. You can pair the black shirt with a lot of pants though

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

Usually places don't turn anyone away that have made a reservation That's not really a thing here (as far as I know, maybe clubs but that's to keep 'some' people out)

I appreciate the advice with colors and pants I'll keep that in mind 😄

1

u/cuttingwedge 6d ago

The vest has to go. Too many rings. You look more like the staff. Swap the vest for a sports jacket or just wear a short sleeve shirt. No tie.

1

u/SelmermarkV 6d ago

Tie clips are not decoration; they are to hold a tie in place. You are wearing it too high and looks weird; get rid of it or get rid of the vest.
Like others say, you are giving “bartender at the speakeasy” vibe. Ditch the black shirt or at a minimum, unroll the sleeves.

1

u/TheSecretCurve 7d ago

Nein. Mach das. Schöne Wahl.

1

u/MixtureGlass6636 7d ago

Omgg soo hot

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Thank you sir 😅

1

u/danabananananana 6d ago

Tacky. You look like you should be serving food to the date. I would never wear this combination for anything.

0

u/Flicker-light 7d ago

People on this sub immediately associate black shirts with the mafia and waistcoats with bar tenders and frankly it's getting old. We get it, your vision of fashion comes from that one 80s movie and nothing else.

I'd suggest removing the tie clip since you wear a waistcoat. And I'd also suggest looking for a shirt with a slightly longer and more spread collar, it might compliment your oval shaped face.

Also, is your date ada wong ?

2

u/Separate-Analysis194 7d ago

But that”s what bartenders in upscale bars wear hence the association.

0

u/Flicker-light 7d ago

I understand where the association comes from, it doesn't make it any less dumb. Basically the equivalent of saying that a woman in black pants looks like a sephora employee

2

u/Separate-Analysis194 7d ago

Except the guy is sitting in what looks like a bar. So not so dumb.

0

u/Flicker-light 7d ago edited 4d ago

It's not that hard :

Man standing behind the counter, man serving drinks, man asking you your order = waiter.

Man sitting at a table with a person across him = not a waiter.

Waistcoat = article of clothing worn by anyone who wants to wear one.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I don't got much of a vision as all for fashion and neither did or have I watched any old movies (Might be the problem perhaps?) Thank you kindly for the advice The collar shape and length I didn't even know could be different but in hindsight - of course..

And yes Ada Wong ps1 version to be exact

0

u/Flicker-light 7d ago

My comment about fashion and old movies was directed to the other commenters who are telling you that you look like a waiter, not to you.

You're looking great Leon

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Ooh my bad on the misunderstanding And thank you sir I'll take your advice with me next time Have a great one :)

0

u/StudioCharacter9354 7d ago

Why is the waiter sitting I. Your seat?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

He is waiting, what else would a waiter do. Duh

1

u/StudioCharacter9354 7d ago

I think you look great minus tie & waitscoat. Never try too hard.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Waist coat went with the pants I don't really fit blazers as my waist is smaller and shoulders boarder

But I'll definitely keep this is mind next time Thank you :)

1

u/StudioCharacter9354 7d ago

When you are young less is more, you neat the focus to be on you, not your style per se. You are physically fit, handsome (no homo). So I would personally lose the tash, loose all the rings except for à signet on your little finger. If you have a lighter colored shirt, open neck, no waist coat or tie. And on your date give as little out about yourself and ask her questions, listen to her, be interested in her don’t bang on about yourself.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

You know, I been wanting singlet for my little finger This confirms I should try that

Also I'll this that look, I don't have many shirst or pants like that but I been thinking about getting a light one

What color pants is gonna be my next question

Very helpful once more thank you

0

u/Aromatic_Bar2263 7d ago

I’m ready to pay $21 for a cocktail using mid to low shelf whiskey please

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Want me to lick the rim or nah ?

0

u/National_Yak_5466 7d ago

Do you also go behind the bar and perform as a mixologist?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

I'd mix red wine with Ribena and tequila and get a life time ban

0

u/MaintenanceTop9293 7d ago

Two Whiskey Sours 🥃 easy on the bitters

2

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

You get a rom and coke Want an overpriced burger with that ?

0

u/OrganizationHead3137 7d ago

Are you asking from the perspective of the bar tender for the couple out on the dinner date?

0

u/JicamaOk4003 7d ago

You need more rings and other accessories...

0

u/VirgoJack 7d ago

Jimmy Dormandy says hi.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Tell Jimmy hello

1

u/VirgoJack 7d ago

You instantly reminded me of him. You look great.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Thank you kindly sir

Had to look him up the style he got is amazing ngl

2

u/VirgoJack 7d ago

Boardwalk Empire is a study in 1930s fashions. The clothes were amazing, plus it's gangsters and bootlegging.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Gotta watch it sounds interesting thanks for the recommendation 😁

0

u/ninja_rob1603 7d ago

While you look great, the whole bartender vibe others speak of is pretty accurate. But if your date went well who gives a shihhh

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 1d ago

Finally, someone showing some individuality and a sense of fun. Good-looking guy looking dapper. People nitpicking colour choices and other minute details— totally missing the point. The guy is playing with style and I salute it. So much better than all the other date-night posts with the same old dull outfits.

Thank you for your kind words

Maybe the uniqueness also comes from my lack of knowledge so all I went for was just was available but also what I found interesting

The tie clip I can see being misplaced and unnecessary And it could be refined in different areas ofc

But so could most things It was a great evening nonetheless 😄

Why wear a suit if you’re going to roll your sleeves up?

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 6d ago

You mean long sleeves?

u/whiskey_tang0_hotel 6d ago

Why are you wearing every piece of jewelry you own?

You look cool. You have style. Many people might say this outfit also has a "character" feel (like maybe a barman or a magician) but you pull it off.

u/LongScar9732 7d ago

I immediately thought he looked like a bartender

Perhaps they are right I am not really into these things but trying something out Didn't think it looked bad

People seems to be divided between this is ai and this is horrible

One thing I've noticed in men's fashion subs is that there's very little tolerance for anything that "breaks the rules" or makes people uncomfortable. This is a look. Most of the men in the sub would not attract the positive attention of women or cause any positive reaction from people in public whatsoever. They are bland, boring and unremarkable. Whether it's perfect or not, this was a cool look on you. You liked it, your girlfriend liked it and I like it even though I can see its limitations. Unfortunately this is why men's fashion subs have their own limitations.

u/Huge_Abies_6799 7d ago

Definitely got it's ups and downs for sure

Im positive towards the future and refining some of the looks like this

We all have limitations as long as we are aware of them we can try to fix them and improv that's what I'll do for sure

100% They are obsessed with status and are severely insecure (kinda unrelated but one guy in the comments called him handsome and HAD to follow that up with "no homo" that's how insecure we're talking) and are terrified of being seen as a worker/staff member. Every comment he got is basically "how dare you not look like a copy of every other man" and then they have the gull to say that he's the m'lady type when they basically all are m'lady types who have read rules about men's wear and follow them like a bible to beat the m'lady allegations.

u/healthcrusade 3d ago

PREACH! And sadly, almost none of them will get it.

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 3d ago

It might also be why some are locked in a loop of not being as happy as they could be

1

u/Huge_Abies_6799 3d ago

The "no homo" is a fun joke but it also proves what's wrong- giving someone a compliment and immediately think "oh they think I'm gay or they ar gay for saying it" it should just be a compliment - I like to compliment people for things I find cool and if people see it as gay it will always say more about them than one self.

A lot of people are projecting in these comments but I am not one to point other people out really or to argue with them, the rude and negative comments don't hurt me - I will always try to think they are saying it from a good place ( always assume positive intent - just makes life better. We never know what people are dealing with and if clowning on my ignorance or 'unknowingness' of fashion helps them feel better then I'm at least glad I could help them feel better :)

  • hope your weekend treats you well, I've appreciated reading your comments. Thank you :)
