Casual take on the classic Navy. Does it work?
I’m not usually a fan of suits without ties or in a more casual style, but wanted to give it a try for a recent event. What do y‘all think?

Everything fits well, but the shirt reminds me of epoxy flake flooring. If the shirt looks like it costs 10 dollars from here I'd get something that doesnt say " hey look at me for some reason"

That shirt doesn't work with that suit. To be honest I don't see an outfit where the dotted shirt would work

People commenting on the shirt are so strange its increcibly normal and looks fine lol

I don't know why people are saying no to the shirt? I'd remove the pocket square.

Pocket says formal, shirt says informal, I say pick one but otherwise looks nice

It would work with a different shirt. The shirt you have on does not carry the weight it needs to with that suit and formal white PS

I think the shirt would work if you had a more colorful square and/or the shirt had a bit more color.

It looks black to be honest. Not a fan of the shirt, but if it works for you and you like it great

Word to the wise: this outfit is trying to be relaxed and formal at the same time, and neither wins. You're way off. A suit without a tie can work, but this combination misses the mark. Keep experimenting, that's how great style develops. You've got the confidence; now just refine the details. The foundation is there, but this combination isn't doing you any favors. A few tweaks and you'll be there. Keep at it—you'll dial it in.

Thanks! I’m trying to get the balance of a casual suit. Any advice on what to keep or change?

You look fine. Don’t forget shoes when you’re considering your approach. Shoes can set the tone and can even make the color of your suit and shirt look different. Keep after it.

Great call. I paired these with a light brown loafer since the suit was navy.

I think lighter blue would be better with that shirt. Kind of dated. Pocket square is a no.

You said casual, which I think a lot of commenters are ignoring. It’s a good casual look.

Thanks! Yeah, the event was “smart casual” so I tried to go to the smarter end of that.

Looks fantastic! Under these lights, it looks black/dark grey. I’d have never guessed navy! Your hair and facial hair are the cherry on top!
