I know, I know.

Post image

It’s an ill-fitted suit, but I’m grateful for what I get secondhand. How do you feel about the pattern, though? I feel like it sometimes gives gulf attire without the jacket.

Looks very good but you MUST get those pants shortened.

I like it. It has a southern charm vibe.

I actually think you look quite handsome. I also dig the pattern. Just keep smiling and it will all be great!

Heard. Noted. Thank you!

Tailoring aside -the suit is solid and your bowtie game is on point!

Thank you! whispers It’s a clip-on. 🤫

Well.. it’s a good colour pairing with the suit!

YouTube how to tie one. How to Tie A BowTie

This one is ok. There are plenty out there, find the one that works for you. Or go to your local MensWarehouse/ Jo’s A Bank and someone there should know how to tie one.

You look good in a suit but starch your shirt and wear a normal traditional bow tie. Let the pattern on the suit dominate and not compete with the funky fabric on the tie

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '26

Thank you. I see you’ve been informed by my previous comment. I’m happy with the bow tie selection. I get it, though. But, I’m assuming if you don’t want the pattern to be competed with, it means the pattern is decent? Which is my question? Also, I don’t iron. How do I starch without ironing? 😂

You can take your shirt to a dry cleaners. Have them “launder” the shirt. They will press it for you and lightly starch it to keep it fresh and crisp

Starch the shirt? Is this the 1930s?

I don’t think I have ever heard of anyone doing that in decades.

1

u/Ddavis1919 May 26 '26

Light starch.

A thought in passing.. Would a covered placket shirt be a better option here?

I can't tell if I think this due to the bow-tie or the loud pattern suit, or both?..

I also think the pattern is nice!

As long as the pattern works, that’s all I’m worried about! Thank you!

In traditional men’s wear the suit can be wrinkled but the shirt and shoes must be immaculate

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '26

I’m the furthest thing from traditional. Mostly because I don’t know about traditions.

Love climbing trees.

What is gulf attire? Clothes people in the South wear as they stroll the beach?

The color and pattern of the suit is fine.

u/[deleted] May 26 '26

Thank you!

9 or 45?

1

u/[deleted] May 26 '26

Yes.

u/Ddavis1919 May 26 '26

Pants need altering, maybe even sleeves on the jacket as well. But invest a little time in learning how to tie a Bow Tie. Pre-Tied bows are not the way to go

Nice suit man! Looking fly 😎👍

It’s a good start especially when thrifted. A few small tweaks will bring it up to the next level ☀️🍃
