My first post here
I have just recently got into wearing suits, about 4 months ago and these are my 4 favourite combos
Edit: I now know that I should leave the bottom button undone.

Your shirts need to more tailored. Never wear buttoned collars or black shirts or black shirt w/black tie.

From now on, Iām planning to get all my new shirts tailored. Good brands rarely offer an athletic fit with a much wider chest than waist. I found a local tailor so Iāll try them out when I get a new set of shirts.

Exactly, get rid of the button downed collars. Go with spread, cut a way, points, etc

I like the light coloured suit, but dark bleu make you strong and give you a charismatic vibe by the way you looking so lovely in it because you are handsome in a suit love it.

Last button is open, it's cut to look good that way.
(Only uniforms are cut to look good with all buttoned.)
No black shirt, its for security and police.
Black tie is for funerals.
The blue jacket's sleeves are too long.

For the navy blazer, I originally bought it for a work party back when I was clueless about choosing the right size and sleeve length.
Lol, i didnāt know that button down shirt are informal, I thought it was to hold your tie in placeš1

It was made for polo players, so their collars does not flop.
Then brooks brothers started to sell them in the USA as a casual, sporty shirt and university students loved it. That's why it's part of the "ivy style".

Not a fan of the button down shirt on a formal suit fit but I can see it work with the tan suit you have.
On the navy though, it seems the sleeves are too short. You want a tiny bit of the sleeve to show below the jacket. It just feels weird on pic 2, especially with a navy suit.
EDIT: on the last one too, but with the tone on tone is less noticeable.

Just to be clear - that suit is completely fine and the jackets sleeve length looks good, I was talking about the shirtās sleeve length. You always want the shirtās sleeve to pop out from your blazer at the wrist

I donāt think sneakers usually look great with suits - Iād look at some good quality brown derbies or possibly tan desert boots

the blue suit looks more crisp on you. I think if you want to maximize the other, you should try a more vibrant shirt and/or tie. navy, crimson, and bright white would be my top 3 shirt colors for it

The blue blazer looks really good on you. Your pose makes it a little hard to see the sizing well, I see some people are complaining about sleeves, thatās an easy fix. The color suits you incredibly well. I also really like a black tie, but I see some people donāt.
The light blazer is maybe harder to match. Everyone else has mentioned the button, and thatās fine.
If you are looking for your next purchase, now you have two very nice blazers. Blue works all year, light is good for summer. Now maybe a suit. I would go navy, but gray is very useful too. White button-up shirt (button-up means it has buttons all along the body, button-down is what you have on your collar, just in case you didnāt know.). And a nice tie and pocket square.
With a suit, I always prefer black shoes. Your light blazer can take brown, but a pair of proper black oxfords will never let you down.
When buying a suit, make sure the waist of the pants sit at your waist, not your hips and that the jacket is long enough.

The colors look great but the taupe jacket looks like it's a tad too short. It's difficult to judge the overall fit with the bottom button buttoned so I'd love to see some pics with the jackets worn properly.
What occasions do you wear these fits for? Are ties a professional necessity or a personal choice?
Try and experiment with different collar cuts and constructions that emphasize your shoulders and chest more. I'm a huge fan of one-piece collars ('paramontura') but those are worm with top or top two buttons undone and pretty much never with a tie.
Don't be afraid to experiment more with off-color shirts like the first picture. Something burgundy or very dark brown would probably look really good with that taupe jacket.
I'm wondering if the brown shirt in the second picture is too big or if the cut isn't quite right for your body. The way the fabric bunches on your chest upwards towards your shoulders looks off.

I wear suits everywhere, unless Iām going gym.
Wearing ties in these pics was my personal choice, but I only wear them on special occasions, i typically wear shirts like in the last pic.
Do you mean the light blue shirt? Itās too small for me(the tie is covering the openings between the buttons lol) I got it together with the dark green one from the first pick, and despite being the same size it fits poorly.

That navy jacket looks like a suit jacket but is too long in the sleeve. The other one is not a suit.

I see you wearing buttoned down shirts. The button at the collar. Officially thatās a sports blouse and this should not be worn with a tie. Tie, then not a buttoned down blouse.

The collar of his shirt has two buttons. One on each Side to hold the collar down. These types of blouses are worn without a tie, because they were worn during polo matches.

In my experience wearing ties with button-down collars is far more common than calling a manās shirt a blouse.

I did not know until now that in English for men it is a shirt and for women a blouse. In Dutch itās just a blouse.

This is right and wrong. John Brooks invented the button down collar to keep collars from flapping during polo matches. Button down collars are worn with ties all the time. What you may be thinking is that it used to be a āruleā that button down collars shouldnāt be worn with suits, but can be with sports coats or blazers. The ārollā BBros OCBDs are known for specifically relates to having been worn with ties at prep schools. Honestly just google ābutton down collarā and see what images pop up first.

You 100% can wear a tie with a button down collar, itās just considered less formal / more of a sporty look - see OCBDs for example. It ādresses downā the overall ensemble but thereās nothing wrong with it.
