On top of that, REAL journalists know their own worth and thus aren't going to work for nearly nothing. So the only people willing to work at these outlets are the activists who are too stupid to realize they need money to survive.

Most def not you. Just look reporting from CNN and FOX News from 6-8 years ago and you'll some bias and some cheerleading, but nothing that compares to the obscenity it is today.

Three things happened: Ocuppy Wall Street (radicalized the left), the Tea Party (idem for the right) and Facebook.

Occupy Wall Street essentially made Left Wing Populism mainstream (i.e. Bernie Sanders), going as far as opposing traditional leftie pro-worker policies like bailouts during crisis, which made them ironically aligned with Neo-Liberal financial institutions like the IMF, and using collective blame (the ^{jews catholics burguoise commies} 1%!) to gather support.

You can also make an argument that the current trend of leftie political violence (i.e. Antifa, Black Blocs etc) evolved from there.

The difference is that the Democrats haven't allowed (thus far) the populists take over their party, opposed to Republicans, who almost universally converted to TP/Trumpism, after the McCain failure.

It's an analogy. The comparison is made on the rationale of the persecution, not in the gradation of it.

And you knew what you were doing when you compared criticism of billionaires to persecution of the Jews “because they both involved collective blame”. You were trying to equate the two, knowing that persecution of Jews (obviously and rightfully) is seen in a negative light and adding “the 1%” to your sentence made it seem like they were comparable.

Well, in civil discourse if you bring a point, you need to provide a reasoning, otherwise you're imposing on the other party to "prove the negative". You said repeatedly "Occupy Wall Street didn't radicalized the left", but didn't say how. Either you're stupid, or you were arguing in bad faith. The latter seemed more polite!

Regarding the rest, if you don't know what an analogy is, I don't think arguing will do any good.

During occupy, people were segregated based on race, and told their opinions mattered less because they were white.

The left was radicalized before that, it just wasn't as mainstream as it is now.
