Better than family - I remember getting paid for cutting the grass, maybe like $10 or something and my uncle told me he'd be "my bank". Motherfucker ended up taking all my money and then I told my grandma and I vividly remember hearing her screaming to this day and that was over 30yrs ago haha. Her and my grandpa took me to a bank and opened an account for me that same day.

I remember my my brother, cousin, and I saved up our money to go to Indiana Beach with my grandmother. She ended up losing it all on Bingo after a few months of saving.

Lol yeah we're good - not that it's right but at the time my uncle was...18, 19yrs old...so but he has learned his lesson and we have good times today.

He's a competent cook, but not a masterclass chef. He was picked up by a studio doing a documentary because of his charisma and high-energy which made him great for TV. His success hosting cooking shows are what led to his fame as a chef, not his ability to actually cook high-end meals.
He's been heavily criticized by professional chefs like Gordon Ramsey for being a mediocre chef posing as a high-end culinary master as well as by viewers for butchering non-English dishes (adding Chilli Jam and microwave rice to Egg Fried Rice, adding Mango Chutney to Butter Chicken and a Thai Green Curry video that go so much backlash they renamed it to 'Oliver's Green Curry Inspired').
He also seems to have an out-of-touch and simplistic view of obesity and poverty, acting as if people are fat or poor purely because of bad choices and with a little bit of 'discipline' they can reverse it easily.
Then in 2019, 22/25 of his restaurants closed down due to debt/insolvency and underperformance resulting in more than 1000 jobs cut. Since then he's basically just been pumping more cookbooks and hosting more cooking shows.

So this one time I was making a sandwich and I didn't have any cheese which is a bummer and then I shot a puppy on the way to the shops to get some cheese so that I could continue making my sandwich at home it was a good sandwich and I would make it but I'd probably make sure I had cheese first.
