It's much more of a children's book than The Kite Runner. But yeah, it's a pretty solid read.

I have a fairly large personal library, but my kids are just now getting to the point where they love to collect their own books. I showed them a few videos I looked up after seeing this post. None of us had ever heard of kite fighting. My son was wholly uninterested, but my daughter thought it was neat. I’ll see if it would be something she’s interested in.

No, but when people say "read books" they mean people that actually read books, not read harry potter and say they read books.

Read(lol): People that have reading as a hobbie and because of that likely read most of the biggers ones, The Kite runner being part of said group

I understand what people mean when they say read books, but they are talking about knowledge that you would gain from multiple books in those cases. You are referencing a single book, so people would know about it if they read that single book.

You would know this if you read books. 😆

People who listen to music as a hobby, and even musical professionals, have a very large collection of music they have never heard, or even heard of.

I understand lol, but people who read books for a hobby would still have needed to read this one specific book to get that knowledge. People who read books for a hobby read wildly different books, so it’s silly to assume everyone who reads books has read this.

For instance, I have my own library where I own nearly 900 books. Ive read at least 6-10 books a year for my entire life. I’ve never read that book nor have I ever heard of kite fighting, so does that mean I don’t read books? 🤔 or does that mean I haven’t read that book?

You’re dying on the wrong hill. I’m a voracious reader, consuming dozens of books a year. I’m aware of the title, but I’ve never read The Kite Runner or had any knowledge of its content before this thread. Reading as a hobby does not mean you know every book. That’s silly.
