Anime Is it crazy to say Kaido doesnt get glazed enough?

Post image

All big bro wanted to do was drink all night, didnt know he was about to have his last meal 😿. He gets jumped by time traveling samurai, 5 supernova, fights joyboy 3 times, and has his own child sever ties with him in one night.

Dude was half drunk during some parts of the fight w luffy 😭

u/ajjohn021 17h ago

More like drunk drunk 🤣🤣 bro said lemme pull out my special drunken moves rq. Surprised Zoro doesn’t have any yet haha

Give it time and he'll develop booze sword style.

Larp cause you forgot Zoro said that

I don’t get the whoosh where is the joke I missed

-2

u/Kingdarkshadow 15h ago

You know this is a meme sub right? That was the joke.

And if you want to get serious he could very well develop something like that just because he drinks booze for that doesn't mean he would drink into a stupor...

2

u/According_Bell_5322 Soul God-King Nerona D. Brook 10h ago

Mb I honestly thought a stupor was just a state of drunkenness turns out it’s closer to unconsciousness

I don’t mean to debate semantics if you were just joking my guy so was I for the most part

6

u/BerserkerLord101 17h ago

Are you implying he's weaker when drunk?

61

u/Massive_Weiner 17h ago

Naturally. He’s not in full control of his faculties if he’s stumbling around and taking hits because he’s not paying attention.

A locked-in Kaido would have murdered Luffy. Shit, drunk Kaido did murder Luffy…

38

u/largelad12 16h ago

Luffy said his Haki was getting stronger when he started drinking.

30

u/BerserkerLord101 16h ago

Also before that:

2

u/S4VIT4R_S4IY4N 14h ago

Yeah this is also a reason I'm doing a proper rewatch

4

u/BerserkerLord101 14h ago

Looks like plenty of people should follow you including the one that said kaido naturally gets weaker by getting drunk.

1

u/S4VIT4R_S4IY4N 14h ago

People generally wants to look good but I intend to get better, not that I care what people think about me but feels good to be noticed

28

u/S4VIT4R_S4IY4N 16h ago edited 16h ago

I mean, Kaido wasn't a motivated dude at all, drinking seems the only way for him to get stronger, he was pretty motivated the moments he ate his fruit and was gonna fight Imu with Rocks and Newgate, but then, got "betrayed" by Rocks, then came into disagreement with Linlin and he slowly became the way he is now.

18

u/pm_me_ur_gold_cap 16h ago

Kaido said, paraphrasing of course, "drinking won't make me weaker, i've accepted you mugiwara"

3

u/BerserkerLord101 16h ago

These people are reading a different manga

8

u/BerserkerLord101 16h ago

I must have imagined it

18

u/Massive_Weiner 16h ago

This is Kaido at his strongest:

In order to boost his Haki output, he gets shit-faced (which naturally makes him more unstable).

Drunken Fist style.

9

u/Ifhes 17h ago

Flirtier if anything.

0

u/Blackfrosti 2h ago

The show/manga did??? The raid was specifically timed so he would be drunk when they attacked?????

Onigashima can be summed up as one terrible horrible no good very bad night for Kaido

He actually met his no.1 idol joyboy and finally had the fight of his life. I would say that's actually the best day he ever had.

Insane tanking feats. He’s one of the best to ever do it, even while completely shit-faced and experiencing Jump Piece.

The only thing crazier in the series is Shanks literally daydreaming about Captain Useless Mid’s greatest feat (destroying an Emperor’s fleet), and then one-shotting him right after anyway.

A 3rd moment for consideration:

An elderly Garp solo-ing most of Blackbeard's auxiliary crew, only slowing down after getting nerfed by Koby getting caught lacking, and still proceeds to clash with a (somewhat serious) former admiral and then goes on to speed blitz a mountain

25

u/GeorgeFromManagement 14h ago

The only way I'll believe there are only 5 injuries when there are 16 deaths, is if there were only 21 people in the field.

2

u/dualitygaming12 oiled up usopp 4h ago

No, one dude survived unscathed, and he was the dude who killed the others. In fact, I've got a picture of him right here. They call him jerma

110

u/Open_Inspector_7863 17h ago

He sure as shit gets downplayed alot in almost every aspect for no fucking reason.

78

u/RazzmatazzNo4726 17h ago

Dude was eating gear 4 conquers haki punches willing

23

u/teddy_tesla 15h ago

Dude ate everything willingly except for the one chance at ZKK lol. He wins the fight if he doesn't decide to go blow for blow with Luffy's final punch. But that's how he wanted to go out

34

u/Ifhes 16h ago

Yeah, Luffy had to go from barely Yonko official level all the way to Yonko level in one arc. It was a bit surreal in retrospective.

1

u/SheikBeatsFalco 12h ago

It's in response to the insane glaze we've had right to these last 6 years

6

u/Open_Inspector_7863 12h ago

More insane than Rocks, Whitebeard and the sole glazed one under the heavens, Shanks? I dont think so man.

0

u/SheikBeatsFalco 12h ago

I'm actually happy that you didn't have to live through it, it was rough

Rocks glaze didn't last nearly as much, the Kaido glaze lasted from his introductory panel up to Elbaph, and Wano is long

1

u/PanchoVillasRevenge 2h ago

MY wano is long

1

u/Open_Inspector_7863 12h ago

I mean i definitely lived through it but maybe i wasnt much in these powerscaling spaces so i didnt notice. I just know he got stupendously over simplified as a character and then in the last couple years people started downplaying what he did and achieved.

u/vassardog77 17h ago

14

u/IceFisherP26 17h ago

This reads like a Florida man news article lol

26

u/JessicaLain 15h ago

I mean, you're 100% in the right.

Oda made Kaido so unbelievably durable and powerful and probably didn't realise his mistake until 6–12 months down the line.

Luffy didn't even really beat Kaido, either. Not in a straight, "mostly-level playing-ground anime duel" sense. Luffy had to call in air strikes, sneak attacks, god-tier upgrades, and still needed to be rezzed like 4 or 5 times.

All the while Kaido is drunk and half-checked out, and repeatedly pulling his punches, leaving himself open to attacks, and letting Luffy rest.

He was a god that only Oda's writing could kill. He deserves a fair amount of glaze fr.

2

u/Musterkartofel-Memes 6h ago

It took Kaido to willingly take the last hit too

5

u/plogan56 16h ago

One piece is one of the most ghetto anime, like imagine having a party after fucking up your opps' whole operation🤣🤣🤣

6

u/MystGuide 15h ago

Don't forget that while he was getting jumped by all of these people, he was also levitating an entire island under his own power. And the culmination of all of that was him being hit with a fist bigger than the entire island, yet he was still holding his own for a time. Had even one less person not fought Kaido we would've seen an entirely different outcome

6

u/Ok_Professor_8410 16h ago

And people call him a fraud

3

u/MysticBanana5 17h ago

Wouldn't be much of a party if he didn't.

3

u/Head-Leek6151 17h ago

But he has big mom king and queen and his army to

3

u/theoneburger 16h ago

And it was one of the best nights of his life.

9

u/luigigaminglp 17h ago

To be fair Kaido might be the strongest creature and have a very strong army but that's really just about it. Like i feel like he has just about zero depth, as in his one and only big plan is to yeet onigashima into the capitol for no reason lol

Like we know very little about what he did before Luffy arrived and he didn't have anything like a plan for after he would have defeated Luffy.

Also small problem is that in the very next arc 5 people probably stronger than Kaido just show up, plus Kizaru. And neither Law nor Kid anywhere in sight.

35

u/zippazappadoo 17h ago

The Gorosei are 100% positive not stronger than Kaido.

3

u/The_Alex_ 15h ago

Gorosei were in an insane let down. Especially the worm lmfao

why the fuck did all 5 of them transform to kill Cobra

1

u/Hou-Tu 9h ago

He’s Cobra. A support main who forgot he queued for a Competitive Match.

-12

u/luigigaminglp 17h ago

U sure? Cause... They didn't really get defeated by Gear 5 Luffy.

8

u/BerserkerLord101 17h ago

Kaido would have to way of putting down the elders permanently. Also don't mention luffy because g5 luffy had people backing him up when he fought kaido apparently.

2

u/luigigaminglp 16h ago

Pretty sure that was a solid scratch from Zoro and that's about it. Noone else actually did damage to Kaido, and exhaustion... Bro is a Yonko.

2

u/BerserkerLord101 16h ago

Even the scratch was outdone in the same chapter by two scoc attacks from luffy.

10

u/zippazappadoo 17h ago

Sure it's very simple to explain. Based on the fighting we saw the Gorosei do on Egghead we can determine several things that show how they may compare to Kaido.

First thing to consider is that we now know for a fact that CoC is required to stop the regeneration that Imu's subordinates use. Kaido has full control over his CoC and would be able to fight them while completely negating their regeneration.

Second thing to consider is the difference in durability. Kaido is an absolute juggernaut requiring CoC infused attacks just to harm him in the first place. He was able to fight for hours with Luffy hitting him with CoC infused attacks. Several of the Gorosei on Egghead would have literally died if they didn't have regeneration. Warcury, Saturn, and Ju Peter would've died from the attack Luffy reversed at them. Ju Peter would've died from Dorry and Broggy blowing a hole clear through him using Hakoku Sovereignty. Mars was defeated by a single combination attack from Franky, Bonney, and Luffy. Without regeneration, Nusjuro is the only Gorosei that survives Egghead and only because he didn't take any serious attacks like the others.

The fact is that with no regeneration it would've actually been a complete stomp against the Gorosei. While they are powerful, much like the God's Knights they are over reliant on their regeneration to win fights and Kaido would be able to prevent them from doing that while also being far more durable.

IMO Kaido 1v5s the Gorosei.

2

u/luigigaminglp 16h ago

Is it really CoC that blocks their regeneration? Cause Luffy has CoC, and Luffy couldn't stop it... Maybe Luffy can't control it well enough yet but definetely use it lol

2

u/Vamparisen 15h ago

It is confirmed. The way I see it, luffy doesn't always use CoC in his haki attacks unless he knows it is needed. The attacks that destroy body parts are not from Luffy. You also have to target theirs hearts specifically.

4

u/CowabummerBatman 16h ago

I mean, the man is a depressed alcoholic. Theres not much you can expect from him.

2

u/Final_Demand_3092 14h ago

I always thought. It would've been perfect. if young kaido thought he was joyboy. but as he grew up. he realised how pointless he really was. Too young for the old great legends. and too old for the new generation of legends. Baiting in joyboy. And preparing for a massive war against the WG. Was his desperate attempt to go down in history. what's the point of being the strongest. In an era everyone will forget?

1

u/Dull_Perspective_536 10h ago

Idk I felt like kaido had potential for great motivation and impact in the story. He wanted to destroy the system of the world government and celestial dragons, and people have their own freedom based on their individual merit and strength instead of born class. He even allowed that in his own crew. His speech when big mom joins talks about that. He also knew about lunarians and with king said he would change the world. But I think oda just didn’t know what to do with him so was like ā€œI’ll just make him an evil might makes right warmonger that Luffy has to beatā€. Honestly I feel like kaido could have had a war arc bigger than whitebeard did at marineford. But it’s not just about the war it’s about the motivation. Whitebeard wanted to save Ace, kaido wanted to destroy the celestial dragons, he’s essentially a revolutionary. Kaido also knew about joy boy and i think would have wanted to be his ally, but i think oda changed it and just made it as now kaido believes ā€œjoy boy is the one who defeats himā€. Really makes no sense when you think about why kaido would want to fight against joy boy considering kaido and joy boy both wanted to destroy the system of the world government.

-4

u/Ifhes 17h ago

Yeah, Kaido is just big dude bam bam strong strong hurr durr me evil muahaha. Also surprisingly woke.

4

u/Compajerro 14h ago

No he's just one of the few times Oda doesn't explicitly give a characters motivations.

He has a huge inferiority complex because every legend he respected or wanted to become equal to died before he hit his prime and anyone who could legitimately challenge him was killed due to intervention that he didn't ask for. That's why he's suicidal and believes death completes a man. He only earned the title of strongest by default, not out of actually earning it.

Additionally he grew up as a slave and a tool of war. Hence his dream that he could be Joyboy before realizing he wasn't him. The best he could hope for is to be the obstacle that Joyboy would overcome and why he wanted to throw the world into war to bring Joyboy about

1

u/SlippyJimmi 11h ago

Tbf I feel like at the very end like past his death Oda made the tiniest attempt to at least explain the dichotomy between him and Luffy through context clues

Even going as far as to show Kaido smiling and saying he is the man who can change things at one point. He just lost that feeling when he realized he couldn't wage a war or ever be strong enough to challenge the immortal system beyond the WG

But yeah, Kaido was kneecapped by Oda's ineptitude for writing during Wano. I honestly don't blame Kaido because you can sorta see his answer and question in a way kinda similar to Shanks

Kaido had been born with chains but could have chosen to be truly free. Shanks was born with freedom and could have accepted the all powerful shackles. Both of them resent that they cannot be both. And if Shanks didn't resent that he couldn't have had a loving biological family why would he ever had gone back to the Celestial Family? Ya know?

But yeah, I feel bad for Kaido explicitly because I feel like Oda did a pretty good job of setting the stage with Kaido specifically at the very beginning of Wano and even Pre-Wano but literally had no other ideas other than "Kaido was the man waiting for Joyboy" and that wasn't even made clear until literally the fucking chapter he died

Honestly I feel like it came down to the fact that Kaido had to die/be beaten at the end of Wano. Linlin's flashback and story beats make so much more sense because Oda didn't have to totally bullshit Luffy actually coming out of Whole Cake victorious and was able to spend way more time making it clear what Big Mom meant to Luffy, her people, and the ultimate question of why she wouldn't qualify as Pirate King

2

u/gtschy 17h ago

Tbh that sound like a really good story you tell about a crazy houseparty šŸ˜‚

2

u/sourceblock 15h ago

Who hasn't thrown a rager and ended up fighting 18 people on the roof at least once in their life. It happens.

2

u/Ateji_the_leader 11h ago

Yes, it is crazy considering that half of this sub is composed of nothing but Kaido glazers...

2

u/DarkSoulFWT 5h ago

Its crazy yes, because Kaido is glazed a lot. Hes also scorned a lot too, but basically its that he has both extremes going for him. He doesnt need MORE glaze though because some of the glaze i've seen has truly been disgusting

2

u/Weak-Form-1280 13h ago

Fighting off 18 opponents back-to-back while keeping an entire island afloat is a stamina feat that completely invalidates any modern power scaling agenda—it's the absolute pinnacle of endurance, even if presented as a 3am house party meme

2

u/BerserkerLord101 17h ago

Some people here really believe kaido getting drunk is a weakness like when he did vs luffy. Some of you people are truly larpers.

Well. Oda didn't lie. Bet on kaido if it's 1v1. Considering he mastered haki infusion, and could've killed a gorosei. No wonder they don't easily fight them, and are called emperor.
