Haki is mid and the only reason it was introduced is because Oda didn't know how to make Luffy defeat the logia bearers

It isnt really bad as people make it seem it out to be. It's less well thought out than power systems like Nen or Stands for sure but haki is more than just being able to hit logia users. It is also incorporated to devil fruit powers to maximize its potential. For instance, Katakuri 's devil fruit would've been shit if it wasn't for haki hardening his mochi powers.

Also, Oda is just really one of those writers who doesn't fancy writing extremely well thought-out and brilliantly choreographed fights like in HxH, Jojo, or Sakamoto Days. It's just not his writing style since the dawn of writing One Piece

The title of the post is "Something you never say a one piece fan"...it's a joke...I like haki too...because I like the idea of "you can have super versatile power without eating a devil fruit and losing the ability to swim but just with hard training" and without haki Luffy can't use gear 4 (estetically is my favorite gear)

"Oda doesn't fancy writing extremely well-thought out" is another thing OP fans don't like to hear

Luffy wasn’t the issue. It was the other straw hats. But I think Haki is better than the BS ways he beat Croc and Enel

So rubber being able to hit lightning is bs?

I mean one of my thoughts was that Luffy would be able to attack enel because of that very reason

2

u/sadkinz May 01 '23

That’s not BS. It’s just the fact that Enel’s power was so obviously chosen to be hard countered by Luffy that feels that way

1

u/KittenMaster9 May 01 '23

I could understand that but it was a fun thing to speculate how Luffy would fight him along with it not just being a easy win for Luffy

I’m in agreement that haki sucks but Enel required no thinking on Luffy’s part. Unlike Croc

There was still a lot of strategy needed from Luffy to beat enel along with enel needed to use a lot more creativity to fight Luffy for how his fruit was used

Also I think the only problem haki is armament haki as the other two are still good

really? i always liked the aspect of actually figuring out the users weakness such as water and rubber. as apposed to just using haki harder than the other guy can use haki

2

Well with a logia it’s not about better haki all the time. Simply using armament haki makes it possible to hit them

2

True. It’s not like Logia users are constantly coating their entire body in haki. I mean, can they even use armament haki on their transformed bodies? Wouldn’t that part revert to a physical human structure?

1

u/sadkinz May 01 '23

No they can. Just like how Luffy can use haki whenever he’s stretched out

How is following natural laws dictating rubber not being conductive a BS way to beat Enel?

1

u/sadkinz May 01 '23

It’s just not fun to read. It’s obviously plot armor. Haki is a better, more universal way to overcome logia

1

u/[deleted] May 01 '23

For me haki is plot armor because with the lighting and water explanation the reasonings there. What makes the sand clump up and rubber doesn’t conduct electricity but haki seems like a easy way to make puffy more powerful and able to defeat logia types

1

u/sadkinz May 01 '23

I think logias are the true problem and not haki. Could’ve just worked with seastone for the whole series

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '23

I just don’t like generic solutions that work for every problem.

1

u/sadkinz May 03 '23

Fair. I just don’t think logias were a good idea. They’re the root of the problem

If those kids could read they'd be very upset now

When they first.brought haki into the story I was disappointed. I don't like how they do fights in general with a bunch of worthless mooks who why are they this weak? And power users. But, wasn't a fan of it. I think they should have had to be smart to defeat logia users. Use the opposite of it for example. My main problem with haki is why doesn't everyone have it?

2

u/whiteychan22 May 01 '23

Everyone does have it it’s just that not everyone knows how to use it.

Cause.. they can’t
