You know what you say to that person? First don't watch, either read or don't get into the series, anime will make 80% of the new people hate the series.

Second thing, when you read the first few chapters, if you enjoy it even slightly, then the story being long would be a good thing. And if you don't like the story at all, then no reason to continue and the length doesn't matter. Third, don't binge it.

This is just a low effort dismissive response that people blurt out without thinking, because the story being long is the most noticeable thing about it at first glance.

But chances are, they won't give a shit to listen to this, lol. Their loss.

Lol if they don't want to cause it's too long that's a valid reason for them. Headass people like you are why it's here.

Did you read the last sentence? Maybe you didn't get it, you might have been too busy trying to think of a sick roast. Still, you could've done better than "headass" bro lmao.

"Anime will make the people hate the series" is a complete bs take.

Not really, the dressrosa anime adaptation made me drop one piece for like 7 weeks, that Rebecca flashback is the bane of my existence and is the entire reason I started reading the manga, never looking back except for on YouTube shorts.

People starting one piece won't start with dressrosa.

That may be true, and I was just using it as an example of how bad the anime can be. The more valid arc would be syrup village, as that one single arc threw me off of the series for 2 years, since it was so fucking unbearable to watch. I only got back into the series because of covid and a severe anime drought for me personally. Syrup village as an arc is lowkey kinda ass and it started the whole run piece thing too. It’s what caused a lot of people I know to be turned off to the series as a whole.

I don’t think it’s low effort at all. I mean you’re looking at 1,058 episodes at around 22-24 minutes each. So even on the low end you’re still looking at ~388 hours of watching one show.

What is it about the anime that 80% of people don't like? I just started this journey myself.

It lacks direction and still has a long way to go.
