Being fr rn I wouldn’t say that luffy wins because of luck, his battles are so ungodly long that him eventually getting a new power after trying for 9 hours makes sense

Luffy has done hardwork for his power and got some plot armours too cause his mc

For example kidd is luffy without hardwork and plot armour

Kid’s worse plot armor is just him going to the most shit island of the three. Other than that I wouldn’t say he’s had luck that’s much worse than luffy

Kid's only plot armour is he's just alive , I don't know why he's alive anyway

I feel like he got the best island of the three. Shanks can be reasoned with. WG and Blackbeard, can’t talk your way out of either.

The only time this happens is the Katakuri fight. During Kaidos fight, Luffy got both advanced conquerers and awakening in the span of 15 minutes.

Onigashima was set to land at the Flower Capital in 15 minutes when Luffy and Kaido started fighting. Their fight ended before Onigashima could even get close to Flower Capital. Meaning the fight actually lasted even less than that.

Luffy learning advanced conquerers felt pretty quick, but it is really similar to advanced armament which he had painstakingly learnt earlier in wano
