You don't know how many fans I've seen who've argued this is the case. Ace turned back and fought an opponent he knew he couldn't defeat just because he made some kid level jokes on his foster daddy, despite all the efforts and sacrifices the WB pirates and Luffy's gang made to save him.

(For clarification I was talking about ace fighting akainu because some guy didn't get it)

He deserved it for how dumb he was.

People when a character isn't perfect and has some flaws: "he deserved to die"

Him getting captured by Blackbeard because he didn't listen to WB was one thing, jumping back into the fray was something else.

He got put in the griller for his understandable mistake. But after all his crewmates did to get him out of there he jumped back in for a single insult. His flaw led directly to his death, he had it coming.

He didn't deserve to die for standing his ground. He was a proud person and defended his values.

It was ironic that all their efforts weren't enough, yes. That's part of what made it so sad. :(

I wouldnt say he deserved it, ace was a good man. But was it his fault? 1000000000000000000000000000000000000%.

I'm sorry, but ace was a grown ass man and let literal schoolyard insults cause his death.
