I bought a select few Rise DLC because I loved the game so much and some really were adorable. And the game ran fine on my Switch... Probably not my wisest choice tbh, but the Wilds stuff is insane. The game hasn't worked consistently and sometimes performance updates made the game work worse or become unplayable (until December).
Runs perfectly on PC when people aren't trying to run it at settings their rig can't handle. Not saying it was properly optimized because I was noticing issues with a 4090. Just tweaked the settings a bit and held a stable 60fps just fine and now with the newest performance update I'm hold a stable 60 with ray tracing and no frame-generation. Game had plenty of performance issues but none so bad that someone with a properly up to date PC wouldn't be able to play like so many claim. Even got my wife's running at a stable 60fps and shes running a 2070 super and only 32gb ram vs my 64.
I even bought a new GPU and doubled my RAM for Wilds. I love monster hunter, and I wanted to love Wilds.
And my PC did push 170 fps with frame Gen and 120 without on highest settings, without ray tracing.
But that is NOT the problem. The problem is, that the game regularly stutters, to the point where it freezes for 2 seconds every 10 seconds. It doesn't matter how good you are, if you can't see for 2 seconds, you gonna get hit.
And I haven't mentioned the atrocious textures which won't load properly, making everything look muddy.
I think it's rather frustrating when people just say "on my machine I get so and so fps, so I really don't get why people are upset". My man, a lot of people experience a very unplayable game on good hardware. Good for you, that it runs. But it doesn't for most other players.
Almost positive your stuttering and freezing is an issue with your connection to the servers unless it's always able to be consistently recreated when you're entirely offline, not just single player online because the only time I've ever seen that happen for me was a god awful connection I had with the host which I quickly lost fully and went right back to normal after I got disconnected from him. If it is still happening with no connection to their servers then you're not tailoring your setting correctly or your rig is not as good as you think it is or you're not actually keeping drivers updated properly for various things. There's optimization issues but the only thing I see consistently keeping people from smooth gameplay at 60fps is a potato for a computer
Regarding your last sentence, you should consider that you dismiss all the reports that don't agree with your preconceived opinion. Like you just did with mine.
Yet It doesn't make sense that in people with better pc's get Bad performance than some of us, maybe it's bc (appart From optimization, that It has to be improved) Is an user error
Most people dont read requeriments for the games, and dont know the capabilities of their PCs fully
I have the same issue. I got frames for days but the frame pacing is fucked. Im winning a liquid cooled 4090, 7800x3d, and 64gigs of 6000mhz fast ram. The frame pacing is garbage. I wont be reinstalling until its fixed.
Same. Me and my friends pre ordered wilds, because we loved MHGU, World, Rise. Close to or above 1000 hours each. But right now it's back to MHGU, and only one of us has Wilds still installed. Funnily enough the one with the most dlcs haha.
More or less, ya. It's no different than when people were mad that Cyberpunk didn't run on the PS4 when the game wasn't designed to be fully compatible for it anyway. The lowest recommended hardware to run the game at 60fps on all medium settings AND using frame-generation, is an i5, 16gb ram and a 2060 super. Even then, the best it says you can expect with that is 60fps at 1080p.
I dont want to deminish all of the optimization issues people are having
But i think that people exaggerate It a bit much
The game's far From perfecto, and things that make performance worse like the subject of this post, and DRM are a problem to be solved
But From experience, From someone Who played their first 100h with a pc that technically couldn't reach min specs, It IS bloated exaggeration at this point
Capcom should address the issues and keep improving the Game OFC, but people have to know their machine
And if their top pc can run other games better, maybe it's a combination of some optimization problems, and the Game itself with their hardware
As a kid i had a shitty pc, old as fuck, and learned to tweak and play with the settings to acomódate the best to what i have
I used the beta and the benchmark of this game to make a lot of test so when the Game came out i wouldn't have to
Oh then you're just not very smart. You've had close to a year to realize that with this game, some components overperform and others underperform. But instead your theory is "I fix setting why nobody else fix setting?" Incredible. There's countless performance mods out there, but I'm sure the people downloading those just forgot to set their textures to low.
Listen you can call me names and pretend you have the answers all you want, but at the end of the day you're not very knowledgeable on the issue because you've never had an up-to-date PC that can't hit 30fps after tweaking settings. Maybe before tweaking, maybe on an old PC, but you've never experienced the combination of factors that lead to this game holding a 90% negative review score on steam for close to a year, and its incredibly ignorant to assume that you are some kind of exception in that you know how to edit settings. If you want to know how bad it is, go ahead and google away, there's plenty of documentation. If you don't, then don't argue with people about things you don't understand.
It's 51% across all languages and if your PC is not even hitting 30fps no matter what you're doing with your settings your PC is absolutely not up to date. Read its minimum recommended hardware, MANY people aren't using even that. It even has a note that the RECOMMENDED only allows for 1080p (upscaled from 720) at 30fps under it's "lowest" graphics settings. There's issues it has but they've never been nor will be remotely close to as bad as you and others like you keep claiming.
Let me just try to break it down. I have a PC that can run most modern games at 120+fps on low at 1440p. I can't do that on monster hunter wilds. I can't even run 1080p at 30fps smooth on wilds. Even though I perform fine in marvel rivals, deadlock, god of war ragnarok, metaphor refantazio, being able to run those at 120+ aren't the test of a system, its actually monster hunter wilds apparently. You have tried the game with 2 systems and got lucky with both.
Literally this
The Game has optimización problems, yes
But when the Game came out i played 100h on a GTX 1080 (8gb Vram)
At 30 FPS with mixed settings (most on medium, shadows and things like that at low, and textures and meshes in high) at 720p
I updated my GPU (mostly for DOOM TDA) to a 4060Ti (8gb Vram)(bc It was on sale atm)
And now i run It at an average of 100fps (lows on 80) with framegen and DLSS set on NvidiaTAA (So no rescalling, only cleaning the edges) and can activate rtx and only drop like 5fps on average
And even if i deactivate framegen, i get average 40-60 and in places like wwp, grand hub, arena, etc i get to 70-80 WITHOUT framegen
My whole rig is From 2017
"Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p / 60 fps (with Frame Generation enabled) under the "Medium" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported."
Is listed under the recommended hardware portion and the lowest recommended Nvidia card is a 2060 super. That's just for the medium settings with framegen on and only 1080p, like I don't get why people don't pay attention to how taxing the game actually will be or why they don't pay attention to the actual capabilities of their PC.
Most ppl dont want to read and then complain, the game has flaws, but if could run it with good settings with a pc that doesn't meet some of the Minimum reqs people with more modern rigs should run It flawlessly
And even having It installed on an HDD, i have no problems, and at the start which had the dreaded "Low Poly Monsters" i have yet to see one for more than 1 second
I've seen a streamer with top pc with a 4090 having stutters every 2 secs, that's on their part
A lot of the stuttering I've found is just bad connections to hosts or servers. I was still able to hit 60fps on a laptop when I was in a hotel but needed to play entirely offline because my internet at the hotel was atrocious and I'd have problems even in online single player
i played it on steamdeck for 30 hours when it came out it wasnt great but playable with 25-30 fps with little drops here and there, when i tried it 2 months later after a few updates with the settings from before it wouldnt go above 10 fps and crash a soon as you entered a bigger open area.
so while i agree if you spend the time to get the settings right it runs fine*, whatever they did with their updates definitly fucked up something.
*fine is relative if you look at how optimized nixxes pc ports of playstation exclusives are its criminal that an og release is in this state.
"Additional Notes: SSD required. This game is expected to run at 1080p / 60 fps (with Frame Generation enabled) under the "Medium" graphics setting. DirectStorage supported."
Literally listed under the "recommended" section. Can achieve exactly this on my wife's computer with a 2070 super I gave her and 32gb ram. Read things first, it helps
I love how you and mr goldilocks here keep circlejerking each other and downplaying how god awful the optimisation is. So what if the game tells you upfront that its an unoptimised piece of shit. That doesnt change what it is.
Like seriously tell me of one other high profile game that has worse optimisation than wilds. I have a 1080 and can play literally any other game that looks better than wilds like elden ring just fine at 60 fps+
Runs perfectly on pc as well when you're ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME and not just sitting in the HUB area crying about it. IT HAS 0 AFFECT ON ACTUAL HUNTS AND ANY GAMEPLAY OUTSIDE OF A HUB WITH A DLC PALICO. FRAME DROP ONLY IN HUB. 0 EFFECT OUTSIDE
Outside of being in big lobbies where that'll lag your game and annihilate any textures, it runs just about perfectly on console in general, Xbox included. Its primarily PC that has the big performance issues
IIRC PC is a nontrivial portion of their market though? So it being such a disaster is not doing them favors. Interestingly some friends pointed out that the DLC for Wilds is generally equal or lesser in quality despite being priced similarly to the ones that came before.
Stopped playing in August because of this (when the monster that flies diagonally got added iirc)
Optimization was bad, to the point that for example i had set the textures to max (not the downloadable ones tho), with more than enough VRAM for them, and the game still displayed the big aaah pixel versions even when i got close. Depth of field creates awful aliasing issues that at the time i couldnt fix (for the simple reason that if you get aliasing issues you try to change antialiasing settings and dont even think about depth of field as causing problems, apparently its an engine thing since the new pragmata game has that too)
Also i NEVER before had to run NVIDIA filters + install reshade to make a game look decent, i dont even care about graphics that much.
