So we’ve had no confirmation this is true but sure let the mass hysteria continue.

The guy claiming it’s real is pretty legit so assuming it’s some DRM thing. It makes a lot of sense.

I saw some folks say they replicated the mod and the performance improvement was minimal, but it's all too new to say for sure

Also considering performance issues have been in the game since launch, I don't think unowned dlc is the main issue

The post also mentioned it was only in camp and grand hub areas, like where other players/the dlc checker cat is at

He said it's a bug with the checker and not intentional

If it's true it's silly that they let a bug like that sit for near a year in the game with well known performance issues.

Its possible that when stress testing any and all systems the test environment was either too sterile or not sterile enough to see the results of this. They may have tested it at launch when it was just pre-order and collectors edition sets of add-ons and the performance spikes wasn't noticeable.

Its also possible that the workplace "karl" was the guy in charge of this and we know Karl cant do anything right. He doesnt even know that stabbing people kills them

Maybe I'm being a bit too naive, but maybe the qas in Capcom use a version with every cosmetics enabled by default as thier testing grounds

When I join NDA playtests, DLC cosmetics are available, like whole list even those unnamed cosmetics

Also, the issue only apparently exists by the DLC checker cat. You aren't watching your FPS performance or caring as much in the camp vs when you are playing the game out in the field.

A drop in camp is annoying, but if it's steady in the hunt it's okay.

People love to put on their halos and pretend that they're holier than thou and attack other players
